A light bitter, not very flavorful - slight spiciness - a tiny sweetness that mingles well with the doughy flavors that come into play - pretty well done, but lacking anything that makes me want to revisit it another time.

I suppose this beer is alright - slight yeastiness - butter, hops, bread - slightly oily mouthfeel - an original amber ale - one of the better middle ages beers I've had.

Golden colour with a slight orange tint and a off-white head that lasts and lasts! Barely any smell, but the slightest of hoppy smells. Very thick body and a noticable malt flavour. Definately not what you expect from a beer of this colour, but a welcome taste! Not many flavours roaming the palate, but enough malt to last for a long time! Decent beer, not a great beer.

Great apricot colour of dark orange with a slight red colour. Nice smell with some apricot and peach scents. Weird flavour at first, the carbonation hits too hard, and all flavours are almost impossible to detect. The aftertaste is not reminiscent of beer at all, no malt or hops. Some apricot and fruit flavours emerge when you continue to drink, but there is not enough flavour coming through to make it a good beer. A better Apricot Ale (even in New York) is by Ithaca.

Strong aley in smell with a nice dark amber brown colour. Very full-bodied, but more of an IPA rather than a barley wine. Some detectable sweetness in the taste, but basically a hoppy flavour. Strong and lingers on the palate for a long time. I do enjoy IPAs, but this one isn't the best...most likely because it was intended to be a barley wine!

This is the fourth Middle Ages beer I've tried, and it seems to exhibit characteristics that are typical of their beers, the most prevalent being a lack of balance and an, odd, metallic and/or medicinal finish. This lacks the body and maltiness I expect from tripels, and the hop bitterness in the finish isn't enjoyable, especially in this style. This finish is a tad on the watery side, too. The aroma is what I expect, yeasty, with some alcohol, and the beer has great clarity in appearance, but this is a mediocre tripel, and a mediocre beer in general.

This tastes like a slightly maltier, more well balanced version of their IPA. It has a rusty brown color, and a rocky white head. Roasty, earthy, slightly sweet up front with a bitter finish. Not bad at all.

Copper color. Buttery, hoppy aroma. Those two things make it seem pleasant, but then you take a sip. This is thin bodied, with some slight traces of malty sweetness. The hop level is good, but there is something about it (maybe the combination of hops used) that clashes and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. A bit disappointing.

I can't sense those "six different malts" at all. All I can taste are hops, and lots of them. This barley wine lacks balance, and a lot of flavor. The aroma and appearance are OK (deep ruby with a nice lacing), but the hop presence is insanely high for the style (and pretty high in general), and the finish is metallic and unpleasant. I love barley wines, so I wish I could find some more good qualities, but I just can't.

Golden colour, little head and a bright 'aley' smell... no detectable hops in the smell. Noticable malt in the initial taste and a somewhat hoppy ending, but really overwhelmed with malt. Not a bad beer, but not a great APA.
