12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. Golden amber with a thin white head; aroma of grassy hops; slightly sour grain body; with a sweet malty finish. Pleasant enought, but not what I recognise as an English Ale.

A hazed blonde ale with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, pleasant fragrant floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light biscuit malt, well done. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, resinous, well done. On tap at Syracuse Beer fest November 2014.

Bottle @ home via the ol’ rot box. Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Burnt roasted malty nose with chocolate, some char, smoke, light coffee, and a fair amount of anise. Medium full body. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. More anise, piney hops, and dark chocolate in the flavor. Fairly smooth. Not sure I’m crazy about the flavor but it’s ok.

Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, biscuit malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a short grassy hops aftertaste. Average overall.

12oz bottle from Orchard Fresh, Orchard Park, NY. An amber pour with a tight cream head; strangely malty aroma for an IPA; estery, pear-drop taste; and a rather thin body; then a fresh dry finish, with some lingering herbal hops. Not at all what I was expecting, very different from the usual American IPA.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks kerenmk. Deep amber with a beige head. Aroma of stale hops, a bit dusty, a bit citric, a bit earthy, with a bit of malt. Flavor has some a bit of sweetish malt, caramel, light fruitiness, some citric and slightly earthy and floral hops, a bit stale, and some bitterness. Medium-bodied.
