Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy dark orange-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of stale hops, slightly fruity and soapy, and a bit of malt. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, mild fruitiness and hops bitterness, slightly stale, slightly soapy. Medium-bodied.

Bomber shared by MaltDawg at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, spicy herbal hops, mild dark fruits. The taste is toffee malts, earthy, resin hops. Caramelized sugar and even a mild bit of chocolate. Medium-full bodied, lingering bitterness.

Draft @ J. Ryan’s. Dark Brown with solid lace. Nose is malt with a slight nutty tone. Flavor is lots of malt. Caramel, toffee with a English Earthy malt feel. Very light citrus hop in the finish. Sweeter rather then malty. Texture is creamy and really smooth. Malt forward here. ABV is completely hidden. I really enjoyed sipping this. I had to remind myself that it is 8%. Drinks like a 5% brew. Really decent. Not really sure how this is an DIPA??? The CD even says its a Strong Ale? Ok... Style lines get fuzzy.

Enjoyed at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse with my bandmates. Poured a rich golden colour with an amber hue. Warm creamy cap with decent retention and lacing. Fresh fruity apricot aromas with other citrus, and nice cereal grain. Mildly creamy and medium-bodied. Again, nice apricot fruity taste with grain in the aftertaste (not much hop). Almost more of a fruit beer than a APA. Still, quite refreshing for this warm summer weather (and Polishfest a block away).
