Cask, Hoylake Lights. Light golden, citrus/hoppy aroma. Taste is sweetish and has hints of clementine and peach. Inoffensive and decent enough if a bit on the thin side.

Cask handpull at The Tickled Trout, Wye. OK ESB, some acidity on finish, reasonable fullness in mouth. Moderate condition. Malts have some dark fruit. I had a cold, so it was difficult to pick anything more out.

Cask at The Swan with Two Nicks, Worcester, 08-03-08 Pours golden with thin white head, in fact it’s actually a warm golden colour. There’s a sort of icing (on the top of a cake) sort of flavour to this, some honey but lacking in hoppiness and bitterness, it’s fine enough.

Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Probably the best Archers beer I’ve had. So roasted it almost tore my tongue off at the end. Good fullness.

Cask at The National Winter Ales Festival, Manchester 18-01-07 A warm almost orange coloured beer with good clarity. Was quite surprised to see an Archers beer at this strength as more used to seeing a 1001 different versions of something around 4% from them, still back to the beer in question. There was a bloody good depth of flavour to this beer, ok so the alcohol wasn’t always that subtle but there was an awful lot else going on, I found plenty of tasty tangy fruits in there along with a surprising banana element amongst some other tropical stuff, and occasionally too much sweetness nonetheless I rather enjoyed this and would look out for again quite happily.
