Description
Initial brewing in 1979 at London St, Swindon. Moved to Penzance Drive in 1990 at an Old Locomotive Shed. Bought by Burns Leisure in 1999 but the group subsequently collapsed and the Brewery was taken back on by the original owners. In 2009 the brewery was bought by Simon Buckley of Evan Evans, who proposes to close the Swindon brewery.

Cask. Dark brown with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate and caramel notes. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate notes. Ends sweet.

Cask at EBF 2008, on Saturday September 13Hazy golden, white head. Some diacetyl, sweet, fruity scent. Sweet faint taste. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Cask at EBF 2008, on Saturday September 13Dark deep red color, small tan head. Butterscotch and fudge scent. Diacetyl and acidic dry taste. Slight roasted aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, low to medium bitterness.

cask, EBF2008 strange, kinda sour aroma. clear yellow small head, sweet and smooth. the strange flavor from the aroma was also present in the flavor. palate okay, overall good beer, but strange flavor disturbed me.

cask, EBF2008 aroma was quite faint, appears clear yellow , smooth head. sweet smooth typical british ffeel to it, slight bitter in the end.

Clear golden with tiny white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes. Flavour likewise with floral hops that gives it a bitter finish.

From cask. Pours slight cloudy and golden orange with a lacing white head. Mild fruity and hoppy aroma. Goes into a nice bitter and light fruity flavour with a mild bitterness and slight spice note showing through. Slight dry malty into the finish.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 9 Aug 2008) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with orange, hints of dusty hops and malt sweetness. Fruity taste with notes of citrus and biscuity malt. Short, citrussy finish. Decent, but rather boring.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol, 18/8/08. Deep amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Very sweet, toffeeish aroma with a hint of redeeming spice. Flavour was much the same with a short, fruity finish. Never again....
