Description
Labatt has deep roots in Canada stemming from its founder John Kinder. In 1847, a little more than a decade after arriving in London, Ontario from Ireland, John Kinder Labatt purchased London's Simcoe Street brewery in partnership with Samuel Eccles and by 1855 had become the brewery's sole proprietor. The brewery was later renamed John Labatt's Brewery, marking the beginning of one of Canada's largest and most successful companies.
In 1995, it was purchased by Belgian brewer Interbrew. Labatt is now part of the new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

24 ounce can from a random grocery store, opened 7/31/14. Pours a clear pale golden color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of corn, grain, hints of grassy hops. The taste is grassy hops, corn, cardboard. Thin bodied, watery, pretty generic.

This was poured into a pint glass and a snifter. The lacing just clings longer in the snifter.
The rest of the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute.
The smell was roasty coffee with a light chocolate underneath.
The taste was roasty and sweet through the chocolate and coffee blend.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but stayed slightly in the background.
Overall, good foreign export stout worthy of having again.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color with a fast rising carbonation trying to fill a rapidly dieing bubbly head. There was barely any lacing.
The smell had some cooked corn.
The taste was sweet through the cooked corn.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. It comes across fairly smooth and crisp.
Overall, nothing wrong and there’s nothing really out there that makes this one stand out.

This was poured into a pilsener.
The appearance was a light yellow color with a bubbly white head. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell left a lot to be desired. Lemon, maybe with some sweet corn but wasn’t combined right.
The taste was tart and sweet through previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, this one sat exceptionally light. Sesionable? Uh...maybe...
Overall, not exactly a beer that I liked and it was probably at the higher end of the lower part of the bad pale lagers.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma is mostly grains, taste is light bitter and follows suit. Light bodied with a thin and watery texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Meh, not the worst beer I’ve had.

This was always poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a light yellow color with fast rising carbonated bubbles trying to fill a rapidly dissipating white foamy bubbly head. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell was fairly lacking for the most part, but there was some cooked corn/roasty perhaps rice-like.
The taste was semi-sweet through that cooked corn.
The palate sat extremely light and showed a great deal of sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly light.
Overall, its Labatt Ice, go figure, would I have it again? Probably not.

341 ml bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a thin, short lived white head. Aroma is mint and lime. Sweet flavour of artificial lime, mint and sugar. Light body with watery texture and average carbonation. Not terrible but not great either.
