Description
Labatt has deep roots in Canada stemming from its founder John Kinder. In 1847, a little more than a decade after arriving in London, Ontario from Ireland, John Kinder Labatt purchased London's Simcoe Street brewery in partnership with Samuel Eccles and by 1855 had become the brewery's sole proprietor. The brewery was later renamed John Labatt's Brewery, marking the beginning of one of Canada's largest and most successful companies.
In 1995, it was purchased by Belgian brewer Interbrew. Labatt is now part of the new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Pours a clean light-golden colour with a pretty decent white head that stays quite long for such a brewer. Big apple nose with pear notes, making this one hard to believe this is natural. Smells good though. The taste is milder, but still those apples that taste like pears. Light grainy finish. Not too sweet with hints of sourness. Does what I expected to do. Refreshing, fruity and nothing too shocking. Someone offered one, I would not refuse.

Can. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. The aroma is sweetish malty with some corn and fruityness. Soft on the palate, lightly warming and medium-sweet. Corn, some fruityness, alcohol and grains in the flavor, a touch of bitterness too maybe. Short finish. Not a beer worth drinking. 150618

Bottle (Labeled Labatt Blue Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage brewed in Rochester NY). Slight hint of barley wort - not much of anything. Golden yellow with large white head. Carbonated water with a hint of barley malt in the flavor. I could drink this all day - mainly due to the fact that it is barely distinguishable from mineral water (in fact, I think I had some mineral waters in Germany that had more beer flavor than this).

Bottle: Bubbly, darker gold with a frothy white head. Water, corn, grain scent. Very light barley malt, water flavour.... It is what it is.....although it does have less of the cornflake taste of most low alcohols...so it’s not quite as offensive and dismal as some. Extremely watery........in fact, I’ve felt like I needed to pee since I poured it.
