Description
Labatt has deep roots in Canada stemming from its founder John Kinder. In 1847, a little more than a decade after arriving in London, Ontario from Ireland, John Kinder Labatt purchased London's Simcoe Street brewery in partnership with Samuel Eccles and by 1855 had become the brewery's sole proprietor. The brewery was later renamed John Labatt's Brewery, marking the beginning of one of Canada's largest and most successful companies.
In 1995, it was purchased by Belgian brewer Interbrew. Labatt is now part of the new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Just because I’m on the Island! On tap. Pours a clear gold with moderate head. Aromas of corn sugar and grain. Flavors of same plus chewy malts. Maybe because it’s fresh and on tap - it’s not as bad as others rate. Can’t say it’s very inspiring tho... Definitely a pounder for after a round of golf on a hot day...

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden colored beer topped by a minimal sized white head. Malty-sweet aroma with fruityness and a hint of hay. It’s thin to medium bodied and softly carbonated, with hints of bitterness. Pale malts, generic fruits and some hay in the flavor, with a touch of yellow apples in the rather short finish. Sort of quenching, but not very good this one. 150612

Bottle. A clear golden beer topped by a dense finger thick white head. Weak aroma with some fruit, pale malts and a grassy touch. It’s sort of sweet on the palate, low on bitterness, quite dry and with a hard carbonation. Some sweetish pale malts, a generic fruityness and some grass in the flavor. Alcohol hints towards the end. A superbly boring beer. Not very good either actually. 150612

355ml can with a sexy red tab. Has a surprisingly okay head and very soda pop carbonated yellow body. Aroma is all sweet apple like a bad cider, but not like a really bad cider. Flavour is a lot of apple sweetness slightly offset by some lite beer bud notes tempering a cloying sugary end. Not a bad effort, more drinkable than other bud products anyways.

Pours a light yellow-golden colour with a frothy white head that stays a decent time, leaving some creamy-foamy lacing. Aromas of corn and cheap malts. Very mild fake hops. The taste is quite light overall, and not as corn, as macro malts. Again, very mild hops. Very light alcohol in the finish is felt as well. Nothing too exciting and probably close to their Labatt ICE, but not super offensive.
