Description
We find that the best moments in life — the most memorable — are when we spend time in the company of those who are most important to us. Our beer and spirits are made for these moments.

It all started for us in 1997 when Brett VanderKamp believed that his hometown and the brewing industry were due for a shakeup. And so, New Holland Brewing Company was born in Holland, Michigan near the shores of Lake Michigan.

Today, New Holland is recognized as one of the leading innovators in the revolution of craft brewing and distilling. With nearly 500 team members, New Holland’s craft beer and spirits are sold across the country, and around the globe. Our retail presence continues to grow with two full-service restaurants, a spirits tasting room, two brick-and-mortar stores and an online store.

We look forward to finding moments to connect and enhancing the lives of people around the world.

bottle - Pours light amber with a thin head. The aroma is mild caramel malt. This medium bodied brew is led by the caramel malt flavors as is typical for the style and has a touch of hops. It’s smooth, decent, and unremarkable.

Bottle. Clearish light straw body, thick off-white head. Spicy hops aroma with notes of lemon and bitter spice, backed by dry, cerealy malt. The body opens with light corny, biscuity malt, with notes of cookies and lemon. Bitter, grassy hops lend a crispness to the palate. Bitter, metallic finish. Quaffable.

bottle - Pours hazy copper with a thin head. There’s a nice citrus and pine hop aroma. The citrus hop flavor is held up by a medium body with a good malt balance. A long, hoppy finish completes this quality example of an IPA.

Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. Ruddy orange body, thin off-white head. Aroma and body dominated by a big swirl of caramels and sweet breads, punctuated by slightly faded but still potent citrusy hops. Leathery and salty notes also present. Good heft. I would have pegged this as an aged Imperial IPA, but the malts are heavy. A touch of oxidation wasn’t too distracting.

Yellow-brown head, shortlived, over black looking beer with a lot of reddish, Cola-like highlights. Chocolate, fresh green leaves, finishing in absolute moccha/coffee; with very clearly alcohol, brandy-like, and even some higher alcohols, giving a quite complex, pleasing nose. Sweet taste with sweet chocolate flavour; rather roasted than burnt notes, a touch of fruity acidity (very restrained), and going over in rich coffee (with some coffeecream). sweet, however dominates leaving very little bitterness, and that not particulary hoppy. Retronasal some tobacco. Well bodied, smooth, grist and unfermented sugars - which is very strange seen the beer came from 19°Plato to 9A% ABV. Pleasing sweet stout (enfin... IMO), thanks to my America travelling wife.

Clear golden body with a nice head that diminishes fairly quickly. Flavor is OK, a bit heavier on the grain than I would have expected. Saaz hops come through with a bit of pepper, but not as much as I would have liked.

22 oz bottle - Pours very dark brown to black with a thin head. This beer smells much like a stout with roasted malt and some chocolate notes. There’s also a hint of vanilla. The flavor is dark roasted caramel malts with coffee and chocolate in there. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and a hint of hops providing balance, Dragon’s Milk goes down smoothly, the 9% abv buried under all that malt. Excellent beer.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a thin head. The mild aroma is mostly of caramel malts. The flavor is sweet and malty with a decent mild hops balance. It’s medium bodied and fairly lively on the palate. This is an easy to drink beer and not bad.
