Description

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Very dark brown with thin beige head. Carries its strength well. Burnt dark malts. Bit creamy in mouth. Some very dark fruits, bit of liquorice sourness. Actually, strong and sickly as it warmed up but then gets better.

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Golden beer with thick white head. Taste is quite strong. Quite a light aroma. Some sweetish golden syrup, a little sharpness and then fine in mouth. Can’t taste the alcohol really, but the effect hits home. Strong golden barley wine which is a bit intense. 3 2 re rate at Cafe Frape Maastricht. Hazy deep gold colour lasting white head. I do like the aroma. Good in mouth. I mean it's strong carries it well. Good flavours. Citrus fruits. Sine good bitterness. I liked it. Impressive beer

Very good in its own style and as beer overall. Sweet malt and fruit aromas. More sweet malt in the flavor but less fruit. Dark and nearly opaque, anlmost like a quad.

2003 bottle. Dark reddish brown, hazy with a thick off white to moka head. Nice horseblanket lambic aroma, coniferous, ground cherry notes, complex. Rich hoppy malt, resinous, with grapefruit, an hybrid between a gueuze and an old ale. Excellent. Merci Mike. Shared with Chris, and Mike, November, 2005.

(Bottle 75 cl) Unclear pilsener golden with a rather handsome, creamy head. Aroma of yeast and malt. Rather heavily carbonated - huge, vulgar bubbles campagne style. Sweetish malty flavour - and nothing much more really. Surprisingly ordinary. 010106

Bottled vintage 2005
Pale yellow color, sparklng, huge white head. Fruity and barnyard nose: horse blanket, apricot, malts. Fruity, hoppy, a bit sticky, like drinking sweet white wine. I like the earthy notes found here. Hops in the aftertaste. Good beer but not the world premium class like the Malheurs I have sampled before.
