Description
Yvan DE BAETS and Bernard LEBOUCQ meet each other in 2002, during the second edition of the Zinnekparade. Bernard had created the now famous ZINNEBIR for this unique Brussels event. However, it took another five years for BRASSERIE DE LA SENNE to settle effectively in the capital. In the meantime, the brewing activities were continued at friendly breweries. This bohemian existence came to an end on December 22, 2010, the date of the very first 100% Brussels brew!

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Hazy pale golden colour, large white head. Otherwise as first sample. Original rating: Cask at the GBBF 2008. ABV was said to be 6.0%. Cloudy golden colour, low head. Lovely aroma of yeast, fruits, spices and honey. The flavour is yeasty and spicy / peppery, fairly dry, slightly medicinal in the finish.

Pours and foams like cola into an English pint. Tan micro head does not stop and snowcones the rim. Sour chocolate and coffee aromas. Fizzy, thin dark chocolate and pit fruit with a lasting bitter finish.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Pikkulintu on 2008-08-02) Orange. Cloudy. Huge white long-lasting head. Sweet fruity nose with strong hop aromas. Very strong-bodied and slightly sugary and very foamy palate. Hops, sourness, alchohol and sweetness in taste. Interesting and nice, except the foaming of the beer in mouth.

Bottle courtesy sebletitje. Pours a hazy deep gold and straw with nice white head. The aroma is lemon mixed with apples and sugar malt sweetness. The taste starts with sweet malts and grain and quickly turns tart and acidic. Interesting. I can’t seem to escape the tartness to find any island of sweet malts, spices or hops to land on . . . and I’m taking on water. . . help!

Re-rate: 10 juillet 2013 Dorée-orangée trouble foin, col blanc. 8-4-8-16. 75cl bottle. Pours hazy blonde with a thin white head. The taste was atcually sweet (sugary/candy) and lightly bitter and hoppy, yeasty with a nice barnyard/farm funk. All was well balanced, enjoyable and not too bitter. 7-4-8-4-16

Pours with a largish, rocky, off-white head covering a deep amber-brown body. Aroma of orange blossom, candi sugar, yeast and lemon. Taste stars slightly sour, then changes to lightly spicey, followed by a burnt malt taste and a slightly nutty and bitter aftertaste. Kind of boring if you ask me. Lively bubbles paired with a dry mouthfeel.

Wow, simply wow.
Pours beautiful with a large, foamy, head. As it slowly fades a sticky and strong lacing is left on the glass. And it never fully fades, left id a cm thick surface covering foam. Basically, there are soap suds in this beer. The color is hazy and thick but not muddy or murky. One cannot see through it but it has a sunshine irradiating hue. Looks like the sun is shining straight through the beer. Just beautiful, especially with the lightly visible carbonation. Aroma is lots of barnyard/cobweb lambic blended beautifully with perfume-like Belgian malts, which are very low key. The lambic part dominates. Further, lightly grassy and light leather, again perfectly melded. Taste is almost all kambic, spiky, cobweb filled leather and a nice long dryness. Throughout the flavor there is a light Belgian pale sweetness lovingly playing off the lambic flavors. Its not in your face with any one aspect. Nice light lemon zest in the back of the throat.
750mL from Beer Mania, no date, white wine glass, split 3 ways at home.

Bottle, Belgian Belly. Pretty baked when I drank this, but even so, little impact was made. Dark, no head. Insipid body and flavour. Nothing else to add.
