Four-pack of pounders x2 from the parking lot pull-up during the 4th of July weekend. Canned 7/2 I believe. No pre-devastation notes to reference. I always came here for the lagerrrrrs.
Pint glass at home. Clear, classy pale gold pour, with a rather thin but sticky head.
Gentle peach & candy dust nose.
Bittersweet, unripe/green fruit, grassy, lingering white grapefruit, some herbal, saltines to dry it out.
Very, very, very thin. Medium astringency, pillowy soft palate but feels a bit stronger than 7%.
Okay quaff, brut IPA in disguise.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a clear deep gold colored body that has thin copper hued edges and supports a thin ring of off white bubbles. The aroma offers up sweet dark fruity esters that are plum, fig and to sherry like and then a thin cloud of malts to faintly bready malts well off in the background. The taste delivers smooth malty to kinda bready malty sweetness leading to murmurs of brown sugar coated plums and figs. To midway some of the booze develops to help counter the base sweetness. Into the finish there's just a dash of spicy like black strap molasses sweetness that comes and goes. Nice sipper.

Really wanted a straight Zillicoah keg but I'll settle for a collab. On tap at Hi-Wire Biltmore. Straight crispy in a clear Solo cup. Middle high dank, light varnish, light cheese nose. Big red onion, dry cracker & bittersweet grassiness. Hyper herbal, falling fast to straight grassy freshness. Medium acid, very crisp, punches way above it's weight. Great.

4-pack of 11.5oz medicine bottles from Appalachian. Came here for the fresh festbier & believe this pack, despite the lack of born on date, to be 2-3 months old. Pint glass at home. Cascading clear, copper brew with a mid-sized egg cream head; lathery. Smells is bitter orange, honey & very light sugar cookie. Fascinated by the smell. Syrupy, white sugar sweet, mellow caramel, prickly herbal hops that could be stiffer, half sharp citrus cutting it up, toffee finish. Slight froth, decent acid & very warming. Pretty easy & inviting for a barleywine. I say that now. Stay hydrated homies.

Very fresh sixer of medicine bottles at Appalachian. No born on date but they posted to their Instagram. Pint glass at home. Clear, pale amber, tall & sticky off-white head. Bittersweet, herbal nose, freshly rolled dough, saline. Slightly peppery, sweet breakfast cereal, herbal bite, a touch of lingering Aspirin, lingering honey baked bread. Off-dry finish. Thin & lightweight, slight acid, soft but ample co2. It starts to fall apart once it warms up just a little sadly. Really fresh beer is incredibly satisfying.
