Brian and Jenn Cook created Kingdom Brewing with the intent to brew authentic craft beers from a wide variety of locally produced ingredients. Starting with American grown grains, they combine farm chemistry and heirloom recipes with ingredients from their farm & greenhouse such as maple sap, spruce tips and berries to create a variety of light to robust seasonal beers.

Second tasting at the brewery. Slightly hazy golden colour with a full creamy lacing and thin coat over the brew. Cereal grain nose with some farm smells, like milk that has not been pasteurized. Maybe it is chocolate malts. After tasting, seems like it could be chocolate malts with the bitter-dry hops taking over the lighter malts. Some tropical fruit notes. A little more bitter than the Billy Goat I just had at 8.5% ABV.

First tasting of our annual Vermont Easter weekend. Slightly hazed golden-amber colour with an off-white small cap and bubbles around the brew. Cereal grain aromas with some caramel notes and hops. The taste blends very well the grassy bitterness and caramel. Beautiful dryness throughout with citrus zest. Goes down way too nicely.

On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury. Deep red brown color with a tan head that slowly dissipates. Rich caramel toffee and a hint of chocolate with a touch of earthy hops to counter. Pretty good for a red ale.

Poured into a pilsner glass, the appearance was a mostly black color with a thick three fingers worth of white foamy head that dissipated ever so slightly. Sly semi-thick sticky lace.
The aroma had a semi-sweet bready lush lager yeastiness. Tame milk chocolate with some dark chocolate nipping at the end.
The flavor seems to blend slightly. Lager yeastiness seems fairly low. Somewhat sweet, somewhat bready dark and milk chocolate, but simple and clean. Sly roasty to smooth breadiness streams into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Crisp smooth sweetness glides along my tongue.
Overall, nicely done schwarzbier and probably one of the best ones done by a Vermont brewer. I would definitely have this again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated moderately. Mild rings of lace.
The aroma takes some crisp nutty malts lightly dosed with some caramel and toffee. Maple seems barely there.
The flavor yields to the sweetness of the nuts initially. And then the caramel and toffee portions balance a little bit. Nutty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Maple syrup barely makes any waves on my tongue, no stickiness. Good carbonation. ABV feels right.
Overall, good as a brown ale, but the maple seems barely there. Maybe again.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a brown color with a thin white foamy head with slow dissipation. Moderate sticky speckled lace.
The aroma starts off with a big boozy bready nuttiness. Caramel and toffee malts underneath. Nicely hopped with some citrus and grassiness.
The flavor leads with the breadiness. Nuttiness along with some toffee comes back to level it out. Burnt toasty to toffee to nutty aftertaste leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation yields a nice smoothness.
Overall, nice brown ale, almost like a blend between an American and an English one. I would have this again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a rugged dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing.
The aroma takes some crisp nutty malty tones over some caramel to toffee smoothness. Light earthy hops play with the balance. Some grassiness underneath.
The flavor takes all of those previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Smooth semi-sweet biscuity malty tones. Ends up all of that blends on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation allows some ruggedness to hit in a hoppy fashion.
Overall, it’s an American brown ale. Hops free fall and then spread out nicely. I would have again.

Growlette share with Doug.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin eggshell white foamy finger’s worth of head. Slow dissipation yields a stringy lace.
The aroma starts off with a thick sweet milk chocolate with some honey and then some hazelnut.
The flavor leans to the sweet side of the wheelhouse through the chocolate and hazelnut. Sweet milky creamy aftertaste with a quick malty sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation yields a smooth creamy feel on my tongue.
Overall, pretty good milk/sweet stout worthy of coming back to.
