We specialize in producing distinctive all-malt lager and other German and Czech style beers. We use only the finest, most appropriate malts, hops, water and yeast in our beers. While our lagers are similar to those made in Germany and the Czech Republic, they are our own unique interpretation of the style.
Lager beers are fermented at lower temperatures than ale, using yeast that has adapted to cooler fermentations. Low temperature fermentations create fewer “yeasty” aromas, esters, and flavors that are so common in ales. We brew lagers because we enjoy their smooth malty and hoppy character.

On tap at Heater Allen, pours a clear golden blonde with a large white head. Aroma is light but well-hopped, with crisp grassiness and crackery malt. Flavour is very clean, with gentle grassiness, crackery malt, and straw. Crisp, clean and well-brewed as usual. Good.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle, banana, estery notes, and some hay. Flavour is dominated by banana, estery notes, and bready malt. Way too much esters and banana. Can't say I detect the peppers or kuromoji. It's authentic enough but I just don't appreciate it.

Aromas are bread, cut grass, pale malt, fresh and clean. Flavors are similar to nose, add in some spice and floral with excellent balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Finish is a bit sweet. Reminds me a lot of the pilsner's I had in Czech Republic.

16 oz. can, pours a clear blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out fresh grassy hops, some herbal notes, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is clean and crisp, with a nice grassy hop character, light spiciness, and crisp crackery malt. Clean and biting, though fairly restrained in hops. Well-made as always.

Aromas are roast, dark malt, cocoa with some molasses and a hint of coffee. Flavors are similar to nose, add in some tart and bittersweet. Very well balanced overall. Maybe a touch thin in body. Good drinking beer.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Dark brown color. Rocky tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma hints at brown sugar. Flavor mirrors nose. Dark roasted malt , brown sugar, dark dried fruit, dark chocolate and resiny pine hops. Rich and decadent. Smooth and flavorful.
