Pours a golden colour with a slight amber hue. Big frothy mildly off-white head with great retention and bubbly lace. Slow tiny bubble carbonation. Hoppy nose, well-balanced with the malt and yeast that reminds me of bread. Hints of bananas also stand out. Lightly-bodied with a refreshing crisp mouthfeel, but a little stickiness in the finish. Slightly hazy at the last pour. Mild hop bitterness appears in the taste and the malt comes to soften it. A good-looking lager that is above-average.

A bit of bitterness with a dry touch, some fruit and a tea-like aspect. A bit of a weird aftertaste as it warms.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a huge, creamy, light brown head. To the nose there are scents of coffee, metal, cocoa and caramel. First taste was quite smooth with a sweet coffee flavour in the forefront. Other flavours of chocolate, roasted malts and nuts soon followed. Finish is burnt and bold, just as a good stout should be. Finish is mostly sweet roasted coffee with a touch of cocoa. Very good!

This ale poured a Golden orange colour with a quick living, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of hopps, caramel, malt and pineapple citrus. First taste was pretty hoppy with sweet citurs flavours. Grassy notes along with a bitter / hoppy finish. The palate was nice and hoppy with bitterness lingering and the slight flavour of juniper there as well.

This Ale poured a deep, dark red colour with a nice big light brown head. Nice lacing. To the nose there are scents of thick dark malt, molassass, caramel and roasted grain. Maybe a little chocolate? First taste was rich but had an almost watery base. Roasty malt flavour with hints of coffee, molassass and cocoa. The finish is burnt in flavout with a little hopp shining through. Palate starts off burnt and conintues through to a little tinge of bitter flavour. Very good, pretty rich.

This lager poured a light golden colour with a quickly dissipating head. To the nose there are scents of hopps, juniper, citrus and dough. First sip was smooth and flavourful with flavours of caramel, butter, hopps and a little spice. Finish is slightly hoppy with a little bitter value there along with a little...smoke? Palate is also slightly hoppy with bitterness lingering. Seriously underated.

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. Aroma of chocolate nougat, with light honey notes. In mouth, a nice lightly bitter chocolate, very sustained, with nice sweet honey in beginning, nutty notes. Medium bodied. On tap at Wellington Gastropub, June 16 2009.

Cask: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a light foamy head. Aroma is dominated by dry roasted malt with light coffee notes. Taste is dominated by lightly astringent coffee notes with some lightly bitter roasted malt notes. Body is thin with a watery final. I can’t say I was overly impressed and I find that beers from this brewery are a bit thin.

Can: Poured a light dark ale with a small foamy head with minimum retention and lacing. Aroma consists of lightly roasted malt with little else noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some light roasted malt with some even lighter caramel note. I thought this was way too watery and thin to be truly interesting.
