(Can) Brownish black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, dark bread, coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with chocolate, dark bread, black coffee, salty caramel, toffee, vanilla and a balanced cacao bitterness in a warming, vinous finish. Full body, sweet. Heavy, but still a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. On the sweet and boozy side, but really rich and tasty, with a good salty caramel character. Great beer!

Can. Just a light haze on this yellow gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Soft and airy palate, a little dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth pale malts, pretty sweet. Soft cooling pine into juicy hop fruits, juicy citrus and stone fruits and, a little mango led tropical fruits. Soft finish brings a little hop spice. Hop wise - rather spiffin! But overall, a tad too sweet thanks to the malts.

Can. A mild haze on this yellowish gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, a little dry, reasonable fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Somewhat thin bodied pale malts, a thin creamy sweetness, not that satisfying. Hops bring cooling pine. Light bright piney hops, light juicy citrus. HBC630 candy fruits. Little candy watermelon. Light finish. Hmm. Quite an amusing brew. HBC522 has been an experimental hop forever. I think it was new and interesting in its day, still is to a degree but, has been caught up by other hops. HBC630 remains a outlier candy fest of a hop. Good fun if used wisely. Overall this a light and quirky IPA that is perhaps just a little bit the wrong side of the top sweet line.

CBJ Sit-In. Opaque ruby. No head. Aroma is full on pukpy berries. Flavourwise it has a bitter tart hit with a vague hint of underlying sweet berries. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.
