Keg at the brewery. Slightly hazy amber, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of wheat, citrus, spice. The taste is lemon, lime, grapefruit, wheat.

Tap at brewery. Pours black. Flavor is dark chocolate, raspberry, metal. Baker’s chocolate finish. Meh.

A golden ipa with a thick frothy lacing light mocha head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with loads of resinous piney floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and California like. Bottle at United lounge, IAD.

32oz growler from bottleBox Norfolk pours a clear orange with some lightly lacing head. Nose has muddled juice, orange/mango/pineapple, some candlewax, floral notes, perfume. Flavor has a touch of sweet candy, mango, guava, more pineapple here than the nose. Doesn’t read as an IPA, almost a fruity saison. Clean finish. Very good, just not really an IPA.

Tap at south street. Pours slightly hazy gold. Aroma is next to nothing. Flavor is grassy, slightly bready, definite watermelon, salt, cardboard.

Tap at brewery. Pours orange with a small offwhite head. Aroma of citrus and pine- not getting the rye. Flavor is pine, citrus, light juiciness in the end. Still not getting the rye. Well with the second sip I guess maybe I did. Tasty but was hoping for more rye.

Crystal clear copper and orange coloured body with a peach glow and a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of sour funk, lemons, cleanser, acid and a bit of floral and piney hops - not too much though, more of the funk. Medium-bodied; Interesting and very funky flavours at first of yeast, bread, alcohol, dry grain, some sour citrus flavours and a bit of herbal and grassy hops near the end. Aftertaste shows the funk front and centre with a heavy malt and floral finish with a lot of odd flavours from yeast to sour citrus to just pure funk. An odd flavour throughout with a noticeable sourness, some light hops, a good malt note and a lot of just pure funk that shows a bit too much with no real clear purpose. Overall, an acceptable beer at best that tries to show a bit too much and nothing really works out - not sour enough for that style and definitely not even slightly hoppy enough to make it any sort of IPA - just plain interesting, but when served in the large format, not an experiment you really want.
