Very interesting hop variety to try, i cant say ive had it very often if at all. Light tropical fruit aroma, with some pear, and apple. Carbis average and same for the mouth feel. Finish is semi sweet, the malts really come through. The hops are still tropical fruit and slightly tangy. Medium bitterness, and an odd wet paper fruity ending.

Tap at the saint bock in montreal. Light amber pour, fluffy white head. Spicy aroma, big notes of bitter tea, grass, and some hay. The tea is very notes are very prominent and really dominate the beer. The finish is medium bitter with a very green ending to it. Lots of green hops, grasses and herbs. The spice comes through at the end and leaves a little herbacious tea after taste. Quite interesting beer.

Clear copper, medium white head. Pale, crisp crackery malts. The hops are slightly grassy, some pine and stone fruit. Finish is medium bitter, some tropical fruit notes, slightly dry, but still very clean. Some citrus, and pine also linger with reminants of more stone fruit. A decent ipa, but not outstanding.

Hazy orange pour, with a medium off white head. Sweet, and tart aroma. Some floral honey, peaches, lemon zest, and some apricots. Not sure id categorize this as a saison, i find its lacking some crisp body, and effervescence. The mouth feel feels heavy, and muddled with a soft carb. The finish is tart in a lactic kind of way, more fruit, wet hay, and some low bitterness. Interesting beer, not at all what i was expecting.

Bottle at the beer bistro. Jet black, huge Tan head.aroma is sweet, fruity dark charred malts, plums and figs, coffee, and sticky sweet vanilla soaked bourbon barrel. Mouth feel is thin for such a big stoit, carb is not surprisingly soft. Finish is sweet, low bitterness, sticky syrupy bourbon notes loads of vanilla and overly ripe sweet fruit. A tad on the cloying side, good, not great.

Bottle at the mondiale 2014. Im glad i did a little snooping, they ran out of this beer on tap, but hadnt chnaged the sign indicating they now had some in bottle. I managed to snipe a look behind the counter and spot a bottle! Score! Hazy amber pour, small off white head. Aroma is loads of funk, wood, oak, vanilla, spices, and stone fruit, the body is perfect, and the carb is very low, almost flat. The finish is tangy and funky, with notes of horse blanket, stone fruit, and very tart citrus. The wood brings everything together with a leathery, oaky, vanilla glove. Very complex, and exceptional ale.

Tap at Volo. Slight hazy orange pour, with a small white head. Funky, bretty nose with some nice mango and tropical fruit aromas. Malts are subtle but still quite up front, bready and biscuity. From the aroma I’m expecting sweet, hoppy notes, but it’s quite dry, with a medium li Gering bitterness. Finish is just slightly grassy with some light fruit, and funk. Ends very abruptly and very dry.

Bottle at Le Bremner in Montreal. Clear golden pour, with a huge white head. Big aroma of malted grains, quite a sharp bitter aroma of crisp grassy, slightly citric hops. The mouth feel ks very effervescent, with a very lively cabr. The finish is quite bitter, lots of floral, herbacious grassy/citric hops, and a great peppery touch. The malts balance quite well and add a tiny bit of grainy sweetness that is needed. Very crisp, and quenching, went amazing with my meal. A superb classic style saison.
