Description
Founded in Herefordshire.
Pressed, fermented, and bottled in Gloucestershire.
Dunkertons history reaches back to 1980 when Ivor and Susie Dunkerton made the decision to escape London and buy a small holding in Pembridge, Herefordshire. They realised that with such a small amount of land they needed to specialise in some form of agriculture and spotted that traditional cider making presented a fantastic opportunity.
In 2014 Ivor and Susie passed Dunkertons to their son Julian and his business partner Bean.
In 2016 the production business relocated to our new state of the art cidery at Dowdeswell Park, Cheltenham.

Bottle shared @ Van Moll Brewpub. A bit hazy yellow color, virtually no head. Aroma is sweet, apples, old overripe apples. Tastes the same: sweetness, apples, sweet overripe fruits, sugary. Pretty dry finish. Quite nice.

Joined purchase with Kraddel @ Cider Cider. Sparkling, darker golden appearance. Smell is apple, close to apple juice, flowers. Taste is sparkling, faintly acidic but mainly sweet apple juice, light sulphur-like taste in the back, matches,.. Light sparkling. Sulphur-like taste took it down for me but others liked way more than me including the guys from 3 Fonteinen.

500ml bottle drunk in the park on a sunny Spring day. Immediately starts sucking the cheeks with lots of overripe, bittersweet apples blended together. Such a great cider, definitely one of Dunkertons’ best.

Bottle from Hay Wines, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Straw colour. Light haze. Fresh, bittersweet apple. A little brown sugar. Some lavender type flora. Taste is off dry. Has a light, smoky character. Soft, slightly thin palate. No booze until the finish. Tart, dry close. Decent. Unusual.

Pale straw colour. Dry pears with a lot of complexities in aroma. Fine and complex taste. A bit of rauchbier in aftertaste. Complex and interesting.

500ml bottle. Clear yellow golden colour, short lived foamy white head and aroma of fruity apple, musty, vanilla, leather, barnyard. Taste is dry sourish apple, bittersweet, apple skins, woody oak, earthy tannin and light barnyard notes. Medium bodied, low carbonation, drying tangy tannic finish. Very drinkable.
