Description
Red Lodge, Montana has a long history with beer. Before the times of Prohibition, Red Lodge Brewing Company made great local beer. Many years later, Sam Hoffmann started Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company in downtown Red Lodge. By using soft, glacial water, heated by a solar thermal array, adding Montana grown and malted barley and naturally cooled by cold Beartooth Mountain air, Red Lodge Ales produces quality beer for today’s discerning beer lovers.

Draft aka ’Liver Eatin Winter Wheat.’ Pours amber with a sandy head. Lots of fruitiness and esters going on here. Sweet caramel, toffee, raisons, and mild wheat. I’ll take this without the liver please.

Draft: Bronze color with a creamy tan head. Fruiy aroma with yeast and caramel. Some dark fruits appear in the flavor. Rich in maltiness, toffee, and caramel. Picking up the raisons, but not the licorice... and that’s just fine with me.

Tap: Pours a brownish copper color with a large, fluffy beige head. Mild aroma is mostly malts, some faint dirty florals, and a little grass. Taste is lager malt, grass, and lightly earthy. Just enough florals to keep it from being one-dimensional. Nothing to get excited about.
