Re-rate 10/15: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Tom C. Fruity, sweet, a bit spicy, yeast, a bitterish alcoholic note. 6/3/6/3/12=3

[9/9/09] Bottle at friends’ house in Amsterdam. Lovely hazy deep golden color with lively carbonation and a white head. Aroma of yeast, some wood, tropical fruits (mango and pineapple notes), some malt and mild . Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, honey notes, fruits and yeasty spiciness that’s getting stronger towards a dry finish with some alcohol. Medium-bodied. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5

(Draught at Brouwerij ’t IJ, Amsterdam, 3 Aug 2009) Cloudy amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread and dried fruit. Malty taste with prunes, raisins, caramel, dark bread and a moderate, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Decent, but nothing exceptional.

Slight gushing upon opening, but primordially loosening huge chunks of UFO’s, resulting in towering, dense, off-white head and fully hazy yellow beer with an orange-lightgreen shine. Powerful wafts of noble hops emanating from the glass, grassy, leafy and spicy at the same time. Asparagus shoots. Bitter flavour, but completely different from the aromas - partly chemical/medicinal, parly spiced. Mural coat paint with horseradish powder. What hops did they use?? Weird flavours, ringing association bells I can’t place - but I guess the hops were at least partly oxidized. Medium bodied, beefed up by the yeast (and protein UFO’s?). Well-crafted, but the main taste comes as weird to me. Better than remembered, certainly - but then that dates from their first batch on draught. How time flies...

330ml Bottle - Hazy brown with a foamy tan head. Fruity and spicy aroma with raisins, caramel and some pleasant spicy hints. Fruity taste with a tart and spicy element with rangers and a hint of clove. Not bad and very drinkable.

Hazy orange colour and tight, dense head. Aroma has some orange zest and stewed sweet fruits. The coriander is quite prominent. Feels a bit rough. Not crisp or refreshing.

Bottle: Hazy, amber coloured, some floaties visible, gushing, but very stable creamy off-white head; fruity and sourish cellary nose, backed by some sweet malt; moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, medium bodied, creamy MF; sourish-malty finish with an increasing bitterness towards the end. Pleasant..........
