About
Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery was founded in June of 2004, following the purchase of Express-Broue, a small brewery situated in St-Eustache. The three new owners had been coworkers at Imperial Tobacco, and shared the same ambition of becoming entrepreneurs following the closing of the factory. Because they all lived on the south shore of Montreal, they decided to move their operation to Brossard.

In the month of May 2011, the company moved a few doors down to Matte Boulevard in Brossard. Their new location was three times bigger to be able to meet the demands of their ever increasing clientele. Following this move, Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery beer is available in over 500 locations around Quebec, and has begun exporting it’s beers to Ontario, the west of Canada, the United States, and Australia.

In 2014, the microbrewery celebrates its 10 years of success, and continues its expansion in Quebec, Canada, the United States, Europe, and Brazil.

Bottle (packaged in 2018) shared at Csakajó. Pours an opaque, lighter brown with off-white head. Nose is funk, acetic acid, malts, leather and earthy notes. Taste is moderately acidic, somewhat funky with malty hints, showing leather, esters, earthy notes and berries. Closes with an acidic, funky finish, has a light to medium body and soft carbonation. Decent, but a bit one dimensional.

Can at Hopa. Deeper, opaque golden our with a white head. Nose is floral, slightly fruity hops, grains and light esters. Taste is moderately bitter upfront, then there's a hint of sweetness just so then it can finish bitter again. There're notes of citruses, fruits and grass. The finish is moderately dry. Not bad, but somehow didnt work for me, also it wasnt as fresh as I would've liked it to be.

Bottle shared at Monyo. Pours deep copper with off-white head. Nose is caramely malts and resinous hops, low oxidization. Taste is sweet malty notes of caramel and toffee followed by a resinous, grassy hoppy touch. Hoppy finish, light body, average carbo. Too much hops in there.

Bottle, 75cl corked. 2023 vintage. Dark brown with a dense beige head. Chocolate, oats, coffee and some cocoa in the aroma. Alcohol notes. Full body, soft, gentle and lightly warming. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, some alcohol and maple syrup in the flavor. Lasting finish. Sure a fine brew. 250307

Cask days 2016. Dark brown pour, with a small beige head. Aroma is very earthy, and woody, with very subtle roasted nuts, and a whole bunch of mushroom water. Smells like deydrated mushrooms that have been sitting in water. sweetness fades, and becomes very savoury, and slightly bitter, and finished very very strong on the dehydrated mushroom flavour.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Hazy orange pour with a great funky barnyard Aroma. Hints of wet hay, and orange peel with some light wheat. I’m quite impressed of the geuze flavours from this beer. Great tartness and sourness. Some citrus in the end, lemon rind, and citrus zest with more funky hay and wet grass. Impressive!

Hazy pale yellow pour, with a large white head. Pale sour wheat, lactic and lemony. Light coriander, and soft lemon zest. Watery mouth feel, low carb
Finish is quite tart, lots of lemon, but the wheat flavours get a bit musty and papery.

Dark brown mahogany pour, medium beige head. Right off the bat I get a big whiff of oak, and some solid balsamic vinegar notes with some seminsweer dark fruit. Nice mouth feel, good carb. The finish is extremely vinous, more oak, and lots of strong funk! Outstanding oud Bruin.

Cask days 2014.
Lots of dark, boozy cherries with a serious amount if funk. The funk, is tart, and really brings out the cherries, but there is also a solid amount of great roasty, almost burnt malts. Slight coffee, and cocoa notes. It’s like a dark roasty coffee with tart cherries added. Alcohol warms near the end, and the funk fades to a more sweet cherry pie with coffee note. Nice stuff!
