330ml bottle. Almost opaque, mahogany colour with small to average, creamy, slowly diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, nutty, slightly chocolately, minimalyl roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of praline, Brazil nut, milk chocolate, whiffs of liquorice. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and nutty, slightly chocolately, minimally roasty, dark malty, notes of praline, caramel, dark caramel, some hazelnut, a weak, fruity touch of red berries.
Slightly creamy testure, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation.
Pretty nice, nutty malty flavours, nice mouthfeel - good.

Imperial oatmeal stout sugared with the apparently highly acclaimed brown sugar from Okinawa, where the cultivated sugar cane seems to produce a higher sugar content than in most other places; from a brewery I had not yet heard of, thanks Meeki for sharing! Pale grey-beige, tiny-bubbled, open, thinnish head on a very dark mahogany brown beer, blackish, but still translucent with burgundy glow. Aroma of teriyaki, burnt toast, dry caramel, roasted bamboo salt, beech nuts, beef stock cubes, brown bread, dried fig, something sweaty, fish sauce. Sweetish, rounded onset, prune and raisin notes surrounded by soy sauce-like umami, even a touch of salty fish sauce; soft carb, smooth oily mouthfeel. Dry-caramelly, beech-nutty, toasty malt and oatmeal slickness, sweetish but not as sweet as expected considering an exclusive form of brown sugar is highlighted here; umami and slight saltiness linger around as well as roasty bitterness, which nonetheless remains relatively mild. Peppery hop bitter accents and some warming alcohol round things off. Interesting one, very slick and smooth with more pronounced umami than cane sugar - I wonder if it is worthwhile to apply such an expensive and special sugar with so little effect, to be honest.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Inoven en JoepvW op Brew@TheZoo2025. Het is een troebel geel bier/mede met een appel kaneel achtige geur. De smaak is vol frisse appel en kaneel.

Bottle. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, fruity Cognac / grape notes. Taste: Roasted malt, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, clearly present fruity Cognac / grape notes. Bit sticky. Boozy hints, light hoppy backbone. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Over medium body, brlow average carbonation. Nice.
