Description

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As De Leite Cuvée Mam’zelle ].Unclear medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, dough, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus - tart citric, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, funky, grape, light cheesy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, funky, barnyard, citrus - fruity tart, grapes, yeasty, light baking yeast - dough, sulfur notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is fizzy. IMO. a bit like a good triple blended with a nice Gueuze. [20140226]

33 cl bottle (6,5%) @ HBF ’14 as "Cuvée Jeun’homme
Aroma has vinegar, some earthy and funky notes. Flavour is odd with grapefruit earthy notes and yeast. Finishes with unpleasant milky notes. Odd stuff, feels like oud bruin.

750ml bottle @ HBF 2014

Pours orange with a massive white head. Aroma of earthy notes, yeast, wood, hints of fruits and malts. Taste is smooth, woody and oaky with some fruits, vanilla, berries and citrus. Finish is complex but smooth, hoppy and fruity with some wood, oak, berries, citrus, licorice and spices. Quite untypical, fruity and hoppy oak aged beer. Not your typical Belgian ale.

Bottle 0.33l at HBF 2014, Helsinki. Colour is slightly cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sourness, fruits and berries. This is more like light lambic. Can’t find any Belgian strong ale in this.

33 cl. bottle sampled. Procured from Willems. Hazy orange with white bubbles. Smells of brett, fermenting apricots, tart, touch wine vinegar, peaches, tart, touch sea salt. Tastes of brett, sour peaches and apricots, tart, green apples, brief touch of Foie Gras, faint salt in the back, touch wood, tart white wine. Touch brett body. Man t his is truly great, this one is a real secret, no one ever talks about this, if a major USA brewery were to release something like this and hype it, it would probably hit the top 50.
