Draft at republic during RBSG. From notes. Citrus and pine with a hint of caramel in the end. Good, but nothing crazy special.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered, thick orange-red-brown color. Oily, smallish off-white head. Sweet, intensely sugary. Has some OK malt depth, but the hops aren’t offering much. Has an old school 90s brewpub kind of feel...not in a good way. Not quite big enough to be a Barleywine, but sort of heading in the direction, at least for a Brown. Tolerable, but not one I’d revisit eagerly.

12oz bottle. Glowing orange-copper color. Thin, creamy white head. Pleasantly true-ish to style, nice toasty brown malt notes. Muted noble hops, faint spiciness in the background. Has some of the nice caramel sweetness if a Sticke, but not quite as refined as an authentic version. Comes off a touch boozy, and yet still a little hollow and one-dimensional as well. An interesting effort.

Tap at OF. Hazy cherry brown-orange. Big on the specialty malt, big resinous sugars. Decent sandy bitterness, but sort of a mess. Kind of amateurish, more of a batch one. Sort of a big APA meets Arrogant Bastard. Lots of good ingredients, but just doesn’t come together impressively.
