pours dark brown, off white head. Aroma hints of vanilla, wood and oak, some barrel notes, sweet toffee. Taste, chocolate, bourbon, oak, alcohol is present but remains very enjoyable, some hints of vanilla, light chocolate / caramel malts. Fine pairing with some vanilla ice cream.

500ml can. Pours a cloudy orange-tan with a head that quickly fades away. Mild clovy banana aroma fades into adjuncty sweetness as you get to know it. Hmm...way adjuncty and sweet. The hefe yeast helps to give it some tolerability, but overall this one is a loser. Avoid.

Not very good at all. Billed as an imperial stout. Thin and light palate, and very light on flavor. Just a little malt, and very light bourbon. Alcohol burn. I want to encourage Cold Spring not to suck, and they have improved somewhat with recent beers, but if they are going to attempt beers like this, they have to actually try.

Nice somewhat hazy golden coloured body with an orange tint and a good white head. Remarkable looking despite coming from a can! Aroma of nice oranges, lemons, fresh hops and good malt...once again - great for a can! Light to Medium-bodied; Good full flavour of malt and hops with some light citrus taste and a shallow but noticeable sweetness. Aftertaste mellows out, but definitely good for the style! I sampled this 25 cL can purchased from a liquor store in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 25-December-2005.

Surprisingly not bad considering where it is from. Some wheat in the aroma and flavor. Lightly roasted and some bubblegum as well. It is drinkable and it does seem unfiltered.

12 oz. bottle from Hi-Time. Fair copper color with a white head that never really arrived. Aromas of slightly roasted caramel and floral/citrus hops. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is primarily lightly roasted caramel and floral hop. Finish is reasonably dry and there is floral bitter. Another APA that is more of an ESB than APA. However, it drinks really well, and I think it would be appreciated across the pond. If they didn’t know where it came from.

12 oz bottle from Hi-Time. Dark mahogany/garnet color with a light beige/tan head. Really interesting aroma; dark roasted malt, chocolate, and something floral or herbal. Medium body with mild, light, creamy carbonation. Flavor is rather mild roasted dark malt with a little coffee, perhaps chocolate behind it. Finish is a little sweet, but there’s a little sour note to help offset that. Mixed porter and bock. Certainly goes down well.

12 oz bottle from Hi-Time. Color is heading for mahogany and the head is hardly there; miniscule white ring. Dark roasted malt aroma. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Taste is a little sour citrus, coffee or chocolate, not much hop. Finish is very lightly sweet. This seems a bit complex with the flavor aspects changing from one mouthful to another. Good drink, but it’s missing banana to me. There is touch of something like banana skin fibre, but the n-amyl acetate seems absent.

12 oz. bottle from HI-Time. Hazy orange-tinged color with a very few white bubbles for head. Aroma is floral and dusty over pale malt/biscuit. Near medium body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor starts slightly citrus tart, but quickly flattens out to just a decent wheat beer. A little citrus sour lingers at the finish which is pretty clean. Have no idea where the hops are. Fairly refreshing drink.

473ml can (thanks to Joe Sixpack). Slightly hazy, golden brown body under a frothy, white head that slowly fades away. Firm malty aroma. Pale malt flavoured water with a hoppy note. Finish off with a hints of sourish vegetables. Missing tail. Smooth mouthfeel. Not a great drink, but my best n/a so far (15.01.2008).
