Description
We are dedicated to the entire experience of craft; from our creative food menu to our unique beers. The adventure started with creating a perfect beer, and we have kept that focus since our opening in 2005 with 31 combined rotating taps plus hard cider and a variety of wines. The Saugatuck Brewing Company (SBC) has a large family friendly pub, outside patio plus a secondary tap room dubbed “The Barrel Room” for multiple different dining and drinking experiences in one building. We operate on a 45 barrel Brew System with 960 barrels of Fermentation Space and the ability to age over 400 wood barrels at one time.

355ml can: BBD 21st March 2022. Poured into a vase shaped UK pint glass at home on 2nd April 2022, so two weeks out of date. Very dark brown, deep red hue; fast disappearing wispy head of small tanned bubbles. Malty nose, weird taste, most likely the vanilla and strawberry flavours trying to blend with the chocolate maltiness. Didn't work for me, strange cola aftertaste too.

l2 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear dark mahogany color with a small beige head and decent retention. Almost no lacing. Dark malt aroma. The taste is mostly smokey roasted malt with a little caramel and limited nutty brown ale flavor. Thin body for a brown ale. Medium- carbonation. Smooth and clean. It's kind of a weak brown ale, but a good roasted dark lager.

12 oz can from Total Wine. Pours a pitch black color with a tiny beige head and poor retention . No lacing. Light peanut butter aroma. The flavor follows the nose. Peanut butter and porter flavors mixed together equally, with a dry, dark chocolate finish. Lightly sweet, no bitterness. Very low carbonation, almost flat. Smooth, semi-creamy mouthfeel. Not something I'd want every day, but a good take on the style.

Can from Home Bargains, Salford. Very dark with very little head. Its blueberry notes are very strong in its aroma and aftertaste, but it's also sweet tasting so the maple influence is not lost. It's mildly sticky textured too.
