12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderate hazy/cloudy deep orange amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, lime, orange peel, grapefruit, apricot, caramel, rye, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with balanced citrus/tropical hop and rye/caramel malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, lime, orange peel, grapefruit, apricot, floral, grass, pine, carmel, rye, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate grassy/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, lime, orange peel, grapefruit, apricot, floral, grass, pine, caramel, rye, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops with moderate caramel/spicy rye malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly sticky/crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice rye DIPA. All around well balanced juicy hops and caramel/spicy rye malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/9/2014. Pours lightly hazy nearly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big fresh strawberry, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, toast, light coffee, vanilla, cream, light floral, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast malt, strawberry, and cream notes; with good strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, toast, strawberry, vanilla, cream, light floral, and roasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, strawberry, vanilla, cream, light floral, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of dark/roast malt, strawberry, and cream flavors; with great robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy, smooth, and slightly slick/chalky moutfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent milk stout! All around great balance and complexity of dark/roast malt, strawberry, and cream flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Stupid amount of carbonation, but no explosion at all, just an eight centimetre tall white microfoamed head atop a clear golden and honey coloured body. Aroma of light hops, alcohol, metal, cardboard, apples and very little else - mild. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a hint of apples, cardboard, malt, metal and the slightest bit of hops. Aftertaste shows almost nothing different with perhaps some medicinal flavours and that’s about it. Overall, a pretty poor offering and despite it being an interesting choice at the store, I wish I would have got something different to bring home from Chicago. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Binny’s (no way/sarcasm) in Chicago (South Loop), Illinois on 21-August-2013 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-March-2014, but if I did this again, I wouldn’t have purchased this at all, especially not for that price.

Waxed 22oz bomber share courtesy of dcschiller, thanks Dave. It pours with a clear amber to copper colored body that supports an off white head. The aroma offers up plum juice, plum meat, cherries and raisins mixed with molasses and then moving into more estery notes in the form of prunes blended with boozy heat at the end of the draw. The taste is smooth and sweet with molasses and then notes of brown sugar, raisins, prunes and cherries. It ends with a dash of malt sweetened roasted malts and then booze. Really nice smooth rich sipper where the barrel component is very light and wasn’t missed.

Orangegelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Roggenmalz, bitter fruchtig. Geschmack getreidig, trocken fruchtig, bitterer Abgang.

On tap at the Wurst Bar in Ypsilanti. Pours amber with a white head. Peated malt and toffee aroma. Nice peated malt flavor with toffee, quite a nice vanilla flavor, some caramel and hints of citrus. Mostly clean finish, just leaving behind traces of the vanilla. I enjoy it.

Dark Opaque Brown Color, Big Tan Frothy Head, Lots Of Lacing. Roasted, Light Chocolate Aroma. Toasted Malt, Light Chocolate Al thought it is not Sweet, Bitter Finish. Rather Thin, Matches Light ABV, So it is and Easy Drinker. Enjoyed It. Recommended....

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy pale orange with 2 fingers of thick white head. Aroma of grapefruit, herbal and citrusy hops. Taste is heavily bitter. Grapefruit, herbal, citrus. Light bodied with a slightly thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, not bad. Drinkable, but nothing to seek out.

bottle - Pours very dark brown and smells of dark roast malt and a hint of chocolate. It’s a straightforward porter with the expect roast malt flavor, decent balancing bitterness, a medium body, a bit of chocolate, and a roasty finish. Pretty good.

Bottle pour to shaker. Hazy dark amber. Malty, slightly sweet. More amber than ESB, overall.
