Deep gold, clear beer; good carbonation to frothy off-white head. Creamy nose, white candi sugar, quite neutral. Sharp, pseudo-citrus taste, reverting to neutral-sweetish. Bit fatty retronasal. Ever so slightly slick, thinnish texture, and not really medium bodied. Bit weird, not entirely pleasant aftertaste. Cannot say I like it, but neither why. It’s very neutral, and certainly not as bad as the Danes claim. Their first confrontation with a top-fermenting ale, I presume?

Hazy blond color. Quite nice (Belgian) spicy and hoppy aroma. The taste is very much balanced, between the malt and the hop, in the best Belgian tradition; quite dry ending. One more good brew from De Proef.

Bottled. Clear pale golden. Grass minerals and grains up front. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel, notes of honey. Resiny finish.

Bottled. Cloudy golden, small creamy head. Aroma of grass and toffee. Sweet with traces of banana. A little bit thin. Some hops in the finish. As usual from de Proef: pretty solid, but not exciting.

Botttle Lightly hazy, amber body. White, frothy head. Spare lace. Mostly diminishing head. The overripe bananas dominate my beer (as Joris mentionned before). Lightly bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter (long) finish. Somewhat sticky. Perhaps the sickieness is soemwhat too dominating. But quite good all in the end.

Bottle Pours a hazy red-brown body, with a light browny, creamy head, whch is mostly lasting. Fair lace. Nose of carame, apples, sirupe de liège, even like faro. The flavour is quite odd too, the initial flavour astoningly resembles faro too (except for the alochol percentage). Moderately sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish.

Sampled at MrFacto’s ’Tosa tasting thanks to CaptainCougar. Mostly clear copper body, medium light cream head that left nice lacing. Aroma of sour, musty fruits, orange, and rock candy with earthy notes and residual sugars. Sweet, toasty flavor, sour (but not lambic-sour) and fruity with an interesting sugary, berry-like flavor that comes close to grape Kool-aid. Avoids the balsamic vinegar/raspberry vinaigrette style standard, and the subdued sourness allows the fruits and earthy yeast notes to develop more fully than would be expected. Quite nice.

Very hazy orange coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of honey, alcohol, apricots, malt and coriander seed. Medium to Light-bodied; Spicey flavour up front with yeast and alcohol also very noticeable. Aftertaste still has plenty of spice and alcohol-also showing some curacao. Overall, strong-but still shows a good quality beer. It was nice to rate this rarer bottle! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 12-December-2004.
