Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.
The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.
Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft. Pours clear, rich gold with a small, creamy white head. Lightly sweet with simple, grainy and lightly papery mats, sun-kissed hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more light papery notes, pale grains, a little straw. Just about drinkable. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Uptown Craft Lager on 07 Feb 2021 at 00:44 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5. Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is full, rich creamy lactose-coffee. Mild ashy notes from the roasted malts, but perhaps a bit overshadowed due to the lactose. Taste is Sharp, bitter, ashy-roasty, chocolate, milder lactose. Not great - I've yet to find a true gem in the NA stout section - but it is at least better than most of the ones I had before. Perhaps a 'bit' to the thin side, and bit to much emphasis on the ashy notes to my taste.
