Salvator has beautiful deep amber color and supports a creamy off white head that sticks around. The aroma is not too overpowering but very richly malty, some alcohol. Perfectly balanced hops and malt. Nice Doppelbock.

This was probably a tad past it's peak. Hefeweizens don't have a long shelf life. Characteristic hazy yellow color and rich thick head. Hints of fruit and yeast in the aroma. Good yeasty flavor but a lot seems missing in both the aroma and flavor from what should be there. Worth trying.

Poured an amber colored brew with a medium size head. Retention is very average as well as the carbonation. A bit of caramel and sweetness with an above average body. Not the best doppelbock I have tasted but bot bad either.

First try of this doppelbock was a little bit of a disappointment. Since the other Dopplebocks that I have had at the end of this year were better. It started with the almost flat pour which resulted in a almost non-existant head. The colour was a very nice dark caramel. The aroma was not overpowering and had a slight caramel scent with a dash of citrus. The flavour started out nice and smooth but in the middle came a alcohol bite with a kind of sour finish. I don't want to bash this beer too badly, it wasn't the worst beer that I have tasted. I will be giving this one a second chance!

Crystal clear golden colour with an almost orange tint. Medium sized dense white head tops the beer nicely. Aroma of malt, canned corn, a bit of citrus and some yeast. Light-bodied; Some stale malts, bad citrus qualities and offensive metallic twangs are noticeable. Aftertaste is very bland and doesn't show much at all. Overall, not a great beer, and I wouldn't reccomend this one. I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 03-November-2003.

CLoudy yellowish brew with a reasonable head. Very complex mix of spice with a fresh taste of wheat. Overall a good example of the style without being the best of the category.

Bottle. Mahagony color with a decent off-white/beige head. There was a nice spicey-sweet smell to the beer that lead right into the taste of the same. It's a malty/slightly fruity/slightly spicey beer with a lingering presence of just a bit of hops/alcohol. It's a nice beer, but not the best in its style.

What a tasty Oktoberfest. Paulaner is my favorite O-fest right now. The pale copper body is topped with a thin white head. Some caramel and toffee on the aroma, as well as fruit and earth. Flavor is subtle yet full, with fruity, caramely, bready malts dominant, and just a hint of earthy hops. Finely crafted, this Oktoberfest is stronger than most I've had, very bock-like.

Hazy golden colour with a great thick white head. Smells of lemon, yeast, coriander seed and curacao (orange peel) all are elements of the smell. The taste is very mild, a bit of the freshness (curacao & coriander) is noticeable along with some yeastie & wheatieness. Aftertaste subtle as well showcasing a bit of the better flavours roaming around with this beer. Overall, a better than average German Wheat, and even though I had this just after turning 21, I hadn't had it since...so at a bar with about 125 taps, I picked this piece of crap...and it turned out to be alright! Try this if you like wheats, as it is most likely available and very pleasing! I got a 23 ounce glass of this on tap at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York.

From the abyss of a much-needed ratings drought comes this above-average, malty lager by Paulaner. Blond body, with a thin white head. Crisp, fruity aroma. Flavor is fruity/malty with a touch of earthy hops. Certainly better than most American lagers.
