75cl bottle. Pours clear deep gold, thin white head that persists. Aroma of soft brown sugar, calvados, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, fairly complex with some interesting vanilla, cinnamon and fudge notes rising above a medium apple fruit character. Relatively subtle calvados influence which I think benefits the cider well. Very good.

Bottled. Slightly hazy yellowish golden colour with a small head, that disappears pretty soon after pouring. Aroma is sweet apples, some wood, mild vanilla as well as some slight herbs. Flavour is sweet apples, some wood, mild vanilla as well as some slight sulphury/vinegary elements, which actually balance out the sweetness a bit.

Draught at The Jeffrey, 1/1/16.
Light blonde body topped by a small ring of bubbles. Light bit of haze.
Soft, musty, funky Brett, appleskin and various farmyard notes. Good peppery phenols and lots of rather bland tannin dampening the brightness somewhat. Otherwise, clean and interesting with well-developed fruit and yeast notes.
Tart and gently fruity with more skin and flesh and low sweetness. Strong pepper, tannin and lightly tart Brett aren’t powerfully flavorful and the lower carbonation and light body suggest a more easygoing, session-like cider. Some more musty, funky notes linger. If they could can this and have it available in literally every god damned store and bar like all the shitty "craft" ciders are, I’d be all over it.

330ml bottle as Cidre Bouché 2015 (5.5%). Much better than the original bottle I had which was perhaps a little old. Much better fruitiness shining through, though generally quite clean and accessible. Medium-sweet. Up-rated. 75cl bottle as ’Cidre Bouché 2014’ from madeincalvados.com. Pours clear gold with a persistent white ring head. Aroma is very faint French apple fruit. Taste is lightly oily and exceedingly dry, lacking a traditional farmhouse texture with very low fruitiness. Some mirage like tannic echoes. Not a good French cidre.
