Bottle @ Brandon’s house. A hazy, copper orange appearance with little to no head. Toasty, caramel, light apple, a touch vinous aroma. Somewhat syrupy, buttery, caramel apple, light toffee flavor. Interesting to try.

2009/10 bottle, 7.5% ABV. 11C. Hazy yellow gold, white mousse vanishes immediately. Aroma of sweet apples, lemon, acidic pineapple, mild floral honey. Quite fizzy. Sweet with an obvious calvados syrupy note. Slightly chewy with some stewed apple, dries out very nicely with some acidity too, but less than suggested in the nose. Some spices - cinnamon, vanilla - and alcohol at the end. Wood creeps in after a while. Seemed overcarbonated and too sweet at first, but pineapple and wood grew to check the sweetness although the lemon disappears completely. Good, complex cider that doesn’t quite live up to its aroma.

Bottle @ home. 2008 vintage. Cloudy, golden appearance with a carbonated head. Fairly sweet red apple, effervescent aroma. Quite carbonated, slightly funky, red apple pulpy, fairly sweet flavor with a light dryness.

Bottle @ home. 08 apples, 09 barrels. This fucker shot off like champagne- I’m surprised the cork didn’t lodge in the ceiling with the force that it hit the ceiling with. Hazy, golden appearance with a small bubbly head. Sweet, apple pulpy, slightly vinous aroma. Slight dry, slightly spicy, lightly oaky, a bit funky, red apple pulpy flavor with the pulpy taste lingering.

Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Musty apple aroma. Semi sweet apple flavor with a musty cellar tase. Light to medium body with effevescent carbonation and a dry finish. Not as good as their regular cider.

Served on cask at The Birch in Norfolk, VA on 7/15/11. Pours a clear pale yellow color. No head when it got to be, but the cask is out of view so I didn’t see it poured. Aroma of tart dry apples with a sweet finish. The taste is tart dry apples, pears and a mildly earthy note. Medium bodied. Sticky texture.

Bottle shared by JK, thanks! Pours a clear gold with a bubbly white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has rich slightly tart and sweet apple note with a hint of funk. Flavor has deep slightly tart and dry apple with a light leafy funk underlying.

4oz pour at Max’s Rare and Obscure Beer Week Part 4. Pours a bright orange with zero head. Big, fruity nose, apples, a little caramel, honey. Flavor is similar, some butterscotch, honey, apples, caramel, sweet, lightly tart, some candy. Full bodied, buttery finish. Very enjoyable.

Gusher. Cork last seen speeding down Queens Boulevard. 50-9-09/10112 bottling purchased at New Beer. Generic wine glass. Empty stomach. Smooth second pour(first was all unearthed dregs) results in a clear, dark amber body topped with a half inch of lumpy(though fleeting), cream-colored foam. Body remains very active. Smell isn’t great. Apple cores, varnish, maybe a little vinegar. Boozy. Taste is so dry, thin, & overall empty. Bitter, one dimensional apples. Lacquered wood. Harsh, harsh alcohol through & through. If this was 5%, it might be somewhat palatable. Is this bottle okay? Plenty carbonated. This stuff gives me a headache.

2009 Bottle. Pours yellow/light orange, semi hazy. "Swedish" autumn apples, oakiness and sourness in the nose. Sweet apples, alcohol, small oakiness, vanilla and small sourness. Vinous bitterness in the end. Without doubt the most complex cider I’ve ever tasted. Sparkling.
