Can from matt7215. Thanks once more. Pours a dark ruby brown with a frothy beige head. Aromas of dark roasted malt and chocolate and citrus. Medium body with creamy/frothy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, and barring some dark malt that’s it. Finishes mildly bitter and chocolate. It’s a mild brown ale, and all the chocolate makes it quite tasty. Damn good beer.

473ml can from Garthicus. Nose of some caramel and a bit of butter (diacetyl). Clear cherry brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is butter and some toffee. Might be pretty good without the diacetyl.

Dark brown. Fudgey aroma with light nuts and soft chocolate. Fairly smokey, fudgey body. Smooth and drinkable, though it finishes with a hint of acetaldehyde.

Dark brown color with a low tan head. Rich, sweet, malty and fruity aroma. toffee, a bit of coffee. Sweet dark malt flavor, with molasses and caramel, some fruit, and little hops. Very pleasant and mild, with complex malts, fruit. Full-bodied.

500ml can. Black with almost no head after a few seconds. Rich, malty aroma, with chocolate and coffee. Smooth, light body, with a smooth, balanced flavor. Roasted malts, a hint of coffee and chocolate. Well balanced and creamy. Can: Poured a deep golden color ale with a large foamy head with low retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of pure malt with some medium sweetness. Taste is also dominated by some pure malt taste with some light sweet and floral notes. Full body for the style with some good carbonation and no discernable alcohol. Not overly complex but very refreshing for those (very few) hot summer days.

473 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a pint. Golden ale with a thick white head. Aroma of biscuit, corn adjunct, and light sulfur. In mouth, a sweetish ale with sweet cream corn, a bit perfumy, not hoppy, light metallic notes in finish. Not crazy about this.

A deep dark stout with mahoganey hues and a thick moka head. Caramel and chocolate aroma, with light diacetyl notes. In mouth, a good chocolate malt with light peaty notes. Light yet refreshing. Can from LCBO, tasted May 2007.
