473 mL can from matt7215. Thanks! This is a brown ale? Huh. Wouldn’t have guessed when I tasted this during a Ratebeer site crash. Reddish brown pour with a medium frothy head. Grainy roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very strong coffee with some grainy notes. A little thin but very pleasant.

Canned at RBESG 2007. An amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and bread as well as a light note of caramel. The flavor is weet with notes of straw and malt as well as a light note of straw, leading to a dry bitter and strawy finish. The body is thin.

Courtesy of Degarth. The 1 liter bottle pours deep dark amber with one inch semi frothy head with spotty lacing. The aroma is fairly mild with roasty malts, burnt malts, licorice and faint chocolate malts. The taste is more assertive than the nose with roasty malts that seem to linger before a combination of burnt malts, malt balls, chocolate malts, licorice and charred malts surface and carry into the finish. Tasty.

Can: Poured a deep black color ale with a small dirty brown foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of black chocolate with light dry bitter coffee notes. Taste is also dominated by some light bitter coffee notes with some nice black chocolate notes. Body is a bit thin for the style with some medium carbonation. This beer was enjoyable and refreshing and well done for the style.

This stout poured the usual dark black with a lacking tan head. To the nose there was scents of chocolate, coffee, nuts and burnt malt. First taste was smooth but lightly watery tasting. Flavours of molassass and smoke with a little bitterness at the finish. Overall not bad but a little light on the flavour.

Can, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Dark reddish brown colour. Aroma and flavour of moderately roasted malts. Quite nice.

Can RBESG 07 ... Deep red ... sweet roast malts ... sweet fruity malt nice malty balance.
