Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Zitronig saurer, etwas wässriger Antrunk. Die Säure ist im Vergleich mit anderen Lambiken nicht sonderlich intensiv, etwas herb, trocken. Steigend zitronig. Spannend säuerliches und doch bekömmliches Bier. 8/10/10/10/14/10

At Maakun’s. Biggun shared by Maakun. Cloudy/hazy golden with a ring of white foam. Flower petals, parfume, floweriness, flower, hay, vinegar, lime pulp, lime peels, unripe white grapes, almonds. Strong sour with fruity parfume sweetness. Always hard to say something useful about the body of a sour beer but the texture is piss quality mineral-like. Tasty stuff!

Bottle 2015 vintage, shared at home. Clear golden with small white head. Almonds, marzipan, cherry pits, berry juice, gooseberries, sour grains and grapes, light honey, sour cherries, sour red wine. Over medium sour. Medium bodied with low but fizzy carbonation. I have no idea what cherry blossoms taste like, but this is strong on almonds and sour cherries. Pretty good!

750 ml bottle. Almost clear golden body with a small and fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mostly fruity with citric, grapefruit, lemon and quite mild on the funky/acidic side. Flavor is fruity like aroma and acidic berries with some bitterness and dry wood. Fine balanced body and nice, tart aftertaste. A rather soft and smooth lambic, but very nice.

Bottle, 375 ml, 2015 vintage. Pours brownish orange, with a creamy head. Aroma is sweet cherries, berries, bretty wooden notes and wine vinegar, as well as a nice funkiness and sweet christmasy spices and succates. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart, with wine vinegar, berries, tannins and bretty wood, as well as leather and farmyard. Quite fruity, very drinkable and nicely balanced.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 21.05.2016
Aroma has ripe fruits, licorice, Belgian yeast. A bit fizzy palate. Flavour has licorice, belgian yeast, ripe fruits. Quite delicious actually, a nice combination of stout and Belgian dark strong. Reminds me of Malheur Dark Brut.
