Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Amber colour with no head and light carbonation. Flavour profile is of tart red berries and citric acid. So the hibiscus is showing. Perhaps the more delicate rose petal element is too subdued. It's a good one from OWA though. Well balanced tartness. A little fruity. Dry finish.

A golden lambic with a thin white head. In aroma, nice funky malt with light horseradish, light pepper, OK. In mouth, a nice not too tart lambic, light horse blanket, light lactic notes, faint wasabi, actually nice. Bottle from Pushkinwow.

Golden colour with no head or carbonation. Aroma is a bit old and cheesy. Flavour is exceptionally sharp and tart. Plum skin is noticeable for me. Nice acidity. Would like this with additional fermentation and carbonation.

Golden colour with quick fading head. Very pleasant sharp, slightly lemony taste. Tart, slightly vinegary in the finish. Pleasant but I don't really detect any beans.

Transparant feeble head over clear golden beer. Aromatic nose a mile out upon opening. Closer by, solvent, sharp fruity aroma, but also chemical. The ginger. Soapy feel, thick despite the obvious lambic acidity & thinning. Salted prunes and - of course - preserved rosy ginger as with sushi. Sticky, soapy, undercarbonated, sharp fruitiness and feel. Hum. I suggest we leave the preserved ginger on the sushi platter. Not in the drink. Thanks to Stef!
