Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Light amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Light bitter, sweet malty flavour. Somewhat cloying sweet, light bitter finish.
Not the best beer made by Van Den Bossche imho, but I guess it has it’s market.

75cl bottle, #153/2000, BB 10/2014, nice Japanese label kind of scroll type paper.

Draught at JCBF 2012. Fruity, yeast nose of cherry and earthiness. Decent amber color. Kind of typical Belgian amber, very fruity, though, well balanced and light. A bit too sweet but balanced by earthy hops. Decent.

33cl bottle bb 06/10/2013. Not sure how this fits a stout profile.

4/I/2012 - 33cl bottle from Kerstbierfestival (Essen) @ home - BB: 6/X/13 (2012-8)

Clear dark brown beer with red glare, big aery beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: dry, grass, hay, lemon peel, some pepper, faint touch of sweet malts. MF: quite some carbon, a bit too much, medium boy. Taste: sweet malts and caramel up front, not too sweet though. Then citrus takes over with a faint touch of roasted malts and mocha, warming alcohol too. Aftertaste: citrus turning to slightly bitter taste with some grapefruit and lychee, also bit alcoholic.

Sample from bottle at 17th Kerstbierfestival in Essen. Dark clear brown color, bright white edge head. Aroma of coffee and feet, in a somewhat good way. Taste is slightly sour coffee soda. Interesting.
