Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Beer & Ball Champions League night. Olympiakos - Manchester United. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Fruity aroma of plum with wood, earthy funk and a hint of something sake-like. Dry and tart fruity flavour with lots of plum, and some funky notes that appear different than other lambiks

33cl Bottle from Hopduvel Gent. Ruby-black colour, beige head. Aroma of berries, wood, burnt caramel, dark fruits, a bit Flemish Red-like minus the sourness, chocolate and a hint of coffee, metal. Flavour is sweet, malty, aspartam, wood, light tartness, dark fruits, light metallic, some coffee, alcohol. Medium-bodied, over-carbonated. Not great, and far from a stout imho.

Scopey 5K Tasting in deepest Croydonia. Cheersnto Bruce. Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Lovely yuzu fruits - grapefruit, grapefruit pith, lemon sherbet and lesser tangerine and tangerine peel. Dry crisp finish. Another yuzu packed belter of a beer.

330ml bottle. Very nice, clear, ruby red twinkling, black colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Dark malty, slightly grainy, minimally fruity, yeasty and vinous aroma, hints of pumpernickel, black cherry, plum and rum. Taste is vinous dark malty, minimally sweet, fruity hints of plum, black cherry, biting hints of alcohol, lively carbonation. Concerning taste it’s more a Porter than a Stout imo; apart from that heavy, fruity, vinous, prickling-biting.

Light sweet flavor with mild tang, lemon candies, slight hay bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fresh, tangy lemon finish with mild herbs and restrained grassy bitterness. Very nice beer.

Bottle thanks to Bruce at my 5K tasting. It pours cloudy gold with a medium, bubbly white head. The nose is fresh, yuzu grapefruit, pomello, barnyard, floral, must and graininess . The The taste is crisp, tart, yuzu, lemon, grapefruit, pomello, sherbet, minerals, mild sweetness and barnyard with a dry, tart finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. A rather approachable, citrus driven affair. Quaffable.
