Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours golden amber with a white head. Aroma is a bit spicy. Med body. Flavor is floral, spicy, a bit towards peppery or something similar - gets a bit earthy towards the finish. Different and quite drinkable.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a nice clear deep amber body that has sort of gold hues and highlights and supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma is bruising with plums and cherries and I can’t help but think it has a very light cherry cough syrup sort of sensation. Off in the background murmurs of spicy sort of black strap molasses are at just noticeable levels. The taste is pretty smooth and rich where a pleasing sweet malty sort of molasses sensation makes for a softness on which the dark fruity esters build with plums and cherries and a bit of date notes to midway. It remains smooth and soft with sweetness and some dark fruity esters right into the finish. Pretty darn tasty brew.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a nice deep clear gold body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma is very light offering up spicy to grassy hoppiness and then followed by some malts and then almost a cracker sort of note. The taste is smooth and gets into a decent amount of pine hops balanced by some malt sweetness. To midway it gets a little grapefruit and tangelo like and those citrus notes only build into the finish. At the finish a thin feeling body is noticed but this doesn’t really distract from the taste all that much. Pretty nice.

Tap at University of Beer in Davis, CA. Pours translucent copper with no head. Aroma seems quite fruity. Med +body. Flavor is fruit, then lots of pine, citrus and on and on and ... Mild caramel backbone - no heat - tho my head spins a bit. It’s not dry, but it is bitter and smooth. Plenty of hop.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate. Med + body. Flavor is very lactic chocolate - not really earthy lactic, but maybe a bit astringent. Reminds of some English versions. It finishes sort of earthy chocolate. Quite delicious.

From a bomber. Bright citrus and resin. Wheat cracker malt in moderate low amounts. Clear orange with full white head. High bitterness marries well with moderate malt and overt pine and citrus hops.
