Description
Andreas Gänstaller used to hire the name, building and installation of Beck-Bräu in Trabelsdorf. Since December 2010 he has brewed in Schnaid under his own name. Beers and recipes taken to the new brewery are moved here. Since then his beer sometimes appears under the Drei Kronen name from 2010-2013 when Gänstaller Bräu had the Zoiglstube in Strassgeich as a tap.

(draught at Festival der Bierkulturen, Köln) Hazy, dark orange to amber colour with a short off-white foamy layer. Pronounced smoke-malty aroma with notes of bacon and wood, accompanied by subtle fruity notes, caramel and shades of hops. Moderately sweet flavour with a balanced hoppy bitterness, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Hearty malt-character with a distinctively smokey touch; increasingly dry and hop bitter towards the finish, which has also minor traces of alcohol. Well-rounded smoked Bock. 16.V.10

(draught at Festival der Bierkulturen, Köln) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a short foamy white head. Quite yeaste, pale malty and slightly worty aroma with subtle fruity notes and herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively, almost sharp carbonation. Pale malt-character, grainy and worty taste with herbal accents; dry and bitter hoppy, also a bit slim finish with a rounded malty sweetness. Lacks maturation, otherwise okay. 16.V.10

Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm in September 2010. Amber with a small white head. A lot of malt in the aroma, also sugar, dried fruit and alcohol. Lot of alcohol in the sweet taste, reminded a lot of a Barley Wine. Good but a bit too boozy right now. Maybe a little better after a couple of years?

From tank @ brewery Trabelsdorf late June, 2010. Pours cloudy orange with a creamy white head and lacings. Various fruity and exotic hoppy notes. Orange, pine and peach. Sticky and oily. Some yeast and caramel. Full bodied. Dry and hoppy end. Very nice.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with citrus, brown sugar, dried fruit and a rather strange, sweet malt character. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, citrus and a generous bitterness in the finish. Lots of alcohol shining through (to be honest I’d guess a lot more than 9,5%). Almost full body, with lots of malt sweetness. Not the most well balanced of beers. Rather sweet and quite boozy, but still nice and tasty.

Draught @ Akkurat. Pours orange with a white head. Semi hazy. Lots of fresh citrus hops in the aroma. The taste is hoppy aswell, in a american way. A small smokeiness adds some complexity. Quite bitter in the orange cesty way. Very smooth!
