Can at home, from HOTM online, 22/05/22. Almost clear amber with a good sized light beige cap. Nose is dark malts, herb, brown bread, dates, dried fruit rinds, spice, biscuit. Taste comprises biscuit malt, caramel, nutty, fruit cake, dates, brown sugar dusting, prunes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a dusty hop spattering. Solid bock.

On tap at Zum Franziskaner. A bit hazy dark golden with a white head. A lot of malt in this one, also grass and hints of fruit. A bit on the sweet side.

Bunch of floaters but who cares when the beer is good? Some sweet fruit over a toasted malt profile. Soft yet Crisp. Medium mouth. Finish has some tang to it.

Can from Geers. Clear dark brown, small, off-white head. Aroma of cured meat, tobacco, toast, chestnut, BBQ herbs, burnt wood. Taste has sweetish apple & fig; toasty, brown-bready maltiness with smoky, herbal & woody notes. Herbal hoppy finish, still smoky-meaty, tad salty, tobacco & dried fruit notes. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Was past its best but still very good.
