330ml bottle @ t'Molenhof. Ordered the barrel-aged version on the menu (the only version available) but the normal one came, annoyingly. Pours a hazed yellow, medium white head. Tripel-lite. Faint tripel esters on the nose. Flavour profile seems a little deflated, mild straw and vanilla sweetness, but all rather subdued, finishing dry. In a country where tripels are a dime a dozen, you really need to focus and get this right, otherwise it comes across half-arsed like this.

15 September 2024. At 16de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin & Jerre!
Hot alcohol, sake, apothecary, wet wood, chocolate sauce. Sweet chocolate, dark fudge, heating alcohol. Quite peppery with boozy vodka-like alcohol in the finish. Thin syrupy texture. This was a bit too much, sorry, Bram!

Tobacco, toasted white bread, Brazil nuts, wood. Sweet pear & plum, toasted nuts, bit white-sugary, low hop bitterness. Nice as an oddity.

Bottle from Stacks. Hazy brown, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of red apple, candied plum, dried fig, raisin, brioche, caramel, wet wood, brandy. Taste has very sweet fig, raisin & candied plum in a similarly sweet caramelly, syrupy, brioche-like malt body; some wood and herbal tea notes for balance. Herbal, bit peppery hoppy finish, ongoing dried fruits, bittersweet orange peel and boozy brandy-like alcohol. Medium to full body, syrupy-stickyt exture, soft carbonation. Delicious, I simply love these brews.

Bottle picked up from Dranken Vandewoude, Veurne Belgium and consumed at home Monday 23rd December 2024 listening to Deadletter - Hysterical Strength. We had Celeriac Mac for tea tonight but decided it was a bit dry and certainly not as good as first time round. Pours shark eye black but without much of a head. Chocolate, bourbon, maple syrup and roasted malts on the nose, it's a lovely arima. In the mouth dark and rich sugars, some black treacle and the aforementioned aroma attributes, this is fabulous. Despite the abv, this is very easy drinking, great beer.

Slightly aged sample Good, bit creamy head over veiled copperish orange beer. Bit oxydation, sweet exotic fruit, rosewater, oxydized hop(oils), vegetable frying oil, rust. Again mix of mild oxydation, sweet fruity esters and a dry bitterish resiny finish. Resiny oily feel. Well-carbonated, very slick and medium bodied. Long aftertaste. Classic - slightly stronger IPA, quite OK - but the used Einkorn grain is anything but classic. Txs to Stef!
