Description
The brewery produces around 8000 hectolitres per year, not only of its own brands of beer, but also of contract-brewed beers. The challenge for the future is a commercial one that will require the development of our key products.More than ever, we wish to emphasize our authenticity, the Belgian craftsmanship, and the character of our beers. We assert our status as traditional brewers. For these reasons, we have invested in the branding of our products, our website and our communication.

[This beer is tagged as a ‘Michael Rudolph 100’ on ratebeer.com] A bottle purchased online from Beers of Europe and drunk at Dad’s while home on holiday. Aroma: Dundee cake, port wine. Appearance: opaque mulligatawny soup, one finger light tan head, some sediment in motion. Palate: medium-bodied and somewhat dry on the tongue, quite lively carbonation; finish is warming with a sharp bite. Taste: lightly sweet with some sour notes, well balanced. Plenty of cake, some plums, agreeably boozy. Overlooking the floaters, this is good stuff.

33cl bottle. Pours opaque dark blonde, with fine white foam. Aroma is intense of honey, fruity. Body is partially dense, a little sticky, with good carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, in full Belgian style. Final is interesting, still strong and aromatic.

Il gusto al naso propende per il fruttato. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera normale, permanendo in maniera sufficiente. Alcol presente.

Backlog November 2009. In according to my notes this was brewed by Lefebvre, but not able to find any match on them so this might be the same beer. Clear golden body under a white head. Aroma of sweet, pale malt. A bit fruity and spicy yeast. Taste is sweet and mild with pale malt, white sugar, yeast and a bit spicy/herbal. Medium body with average aftertaste.

2003(?) 750 ml bottle. Opened on Christmas night, appropriately. Amber/brown pour, just a little fizz. Nose has a bit of Belgian tripel, not much sweetness, just some Belgian malt. Surprisingly pleasant taste for a 22 year old beer. Strong malts, just a hint of alcohol. Sipping it brings in a bit more of a cognac nose from the glass. Light texture on the lips; not a lot of stickiness. Of course there's not a lot of hop left, if there ever was much to start. Goes down nice and easy for a strong ale..
