750 ml. bottle sampled @ “Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival”. Dark orange, thin bubbles on top. Nose is very rustic, raw barn, hay, almost too raw, apple, light pear. Taste is rustic, wild, fermenting apples & apple juice, mineral, sulfites, very raw with odd notes, close to being too much. Med. body. Interesting brew.

Biologic version, I don’t know if that makes any difference. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ BAF 2014. Hazy golden with no head. Lot of rich apple with hay, light wood. Taste of barnyard apple with some hay & richer body, light tart, plenty of body, touch acidic, juice, lots of aple, citrus. Rich apple body. Rich apple body. Very nice.

Near-gushing to huge, but ultra-shortlived dirty yellow head over absurdly lively orange-golden hazed cider. Dry apples, with some dry herb (such as sage), hay. Quite intense, but unidimensional nose; Dry apples, but with a nice toasted flavour, as if the apples were stewed, the juice caramelized first. Long-lasting sweet apple finish. Gets earthiness after some warming. Very carbonated to fizzy, slowly dwindling. Something syrupy, ast the caramelized sugars in Tarte Tatin. Not your ordinary cider. But I think de la Galotières products more than a tad too fizzy.
