Description
Wolter de Bes, a born entrepreneur with 10 years of experience, is the driving force behind one of Netherlands most beautiful cafés.

CASPAR, a hospitable and modern ‘brown’ grandcafé, located in Klarendal, Arnhem,

His passion for craft beers and his hospitality, made Wolter decide to serve his clients more than just the standard. Over the past few years Wolter has come up with a lot of ideas for beers. These ideas are getting realized via Brewery CC by Oldskool since all beers from the CC brewery are brewed with the help of Dennis Kort from Oldskool Brewery. The brewery does not have the intention to market its beers more widely, neither in retail nor in the hospitality industry.

Volgens etiket slechts 6.2% en geen 7.5%. Bruin bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitterzoet met iets van karamel, wat gedroogd fruit en geroosterd brood.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orangish golden, large frothy white head. Aroma: Mix of malt and hop, light Brett notes. Taste: Wheat malt, some hop, funky Brett notes. I don't recognize any butter, like mentioned in the previous review. Although this 'limited Brett version' is most probably caused by a brewing failure I think it's ok after all.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before December 2021. Almost clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently smoky and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, smoked eel and raisins. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly roasty, quite smoky and a bit fruity taste of caramel, lapsang souchong, dark chocolate, licorice and a touch of raisins, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, quite smoky and a bit herbal finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty Smoked Ale, has some lapsang souchong-like flavour, quite smooth as well. Good!

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Edrinks, Eindhoven. Dutch brewery #346 Pours black with an off-white head. Smokey hoppy aroma with some roasted malts. Taste is sweet with a hoppy smokey finish. Not sure how to label this in terms of style: smoked black IPA? Hoppy rauchbeer? What I do know is that I liked it.

Bottle at home. Murky muddy brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, light smoke, dark malts, light roast, soft sweet notes and nicely bitter hints too. Well balanced. I like it.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Butter and caramel in the aroma. Hint of roast. Malty sweet flavor. Toffee, chichorei, soft roast and licorice. I expected long aging and a hint of oak and bretty sourness. But this is just sweet and thin in stead of complex and rich.
