375ml can into glass. 4.8% From bottlo in Sorell, Tasmania. Highly carbonated yellow beer with fluffy white head. Nose is tin and cooked vegetables. Sharp zingy mouthfeel. Taste is sweet and tinny. Some malt is noticeable but the finish is pure Aussie macro (i.e. tin & vegetables). These ’Tassie-only’ macro lagers all seem to be much sweeter than their mainland equivalents.

375ml can into glass. From a St Helens bottlo. Nose of malt, sourness, and a bit of funkiness. Golden amber beer with frothy white head. Very low carbonation. Some lacing. Oily texture. Tastes like cooked vegetables followed by castor sugar sweetness and tin. Then the veggies come back only this time they bring some lemon sherbets with them. Retro-weird.

On tap at the brewery. Blonde, thin head. A bit cidery/industrial there’s a little bit of body, but overall it’s a fancy pale lager/ golden ale sort of thing that lets me down a bit.

750ml bottle into shaker. Granny smith aroma but faint. Pale, pale yellow/green appearance, medium carbonation, zero head. Zingy in the mouth, mild toffee-apple taste gives way to a light tartness. Easy drinking, does the job in summer.

375ml bottle, 5.2%, from Dan Murphy’s, Hurstville, Sydney, NSW. Clear pale yellow gold colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of mellow apple. Taste is apple, fruity, bittersweet. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry slightly tannic finish. Quite OK.

Middie on tap. Amber beer with white head that produces lacing. Slight hop nose. Fizzy beer, light body. Finish is malty sweetness with a tiny bit of hop bitterness. Alright if you are driving.
