About
Oprichter en één van de brouwmeesters van Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje is Erik Bouman. Hij brouwt al sinds 1996 zijn eigen bieren en in 1997 startte hij met zijn Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje. In 2011 wist Bouman het oude pand van een bollenkweker in Hillegom te verwerven. In de zomer van 2012 werd het proeflokaal geopend en de brouwerij in gebruik genomen. In 2013 werd de naam van de brouwerij gewijzigd van Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje naar Brouwerij Klein Duimpje.

A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with a slight note of acidity from the roasted malt, but also a light note of coffee. The flavor is sweet with over ripe fruit notes and prunes, leading to a dry wood and roasted end.

Bottle, Foreign Beer bar at GBBF Sat 5th August 2006. Very dark beer with no head to speak of, nice roasted notes on the nose. Quite sticky and a bit sweet but not overly so, also bitterness quite evident as was roasted flavours, drank very easily for the strength. Very nice. A6 A4 F7 P3 OV16 3.6 Had this again 09-01-09 Barry a friend picked it up at Westholme Londis Store, Goring-on-Thames, cheers Barry. Pours dark brown with beige head. Nice chewy maltiness, little boozy on the nose. Some oatiness comes through from somewhere along with a soft chocolatey bitterness, good Impy Stout. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV15 3.7

Bottle at Reading BF 06. Rich gold with sediment in suspension. I was told that is was a rarity and that a Dutchman at the festival had taken a bottle because he couldn’t get it back home. Rounded yeast citrus aroma. Bit too fizzy, but the tangerine is lovely. Nice beer. Its a bit like Rowntree’s tangerine jelly.

Bottle. Yeasty aroma with some fresh hop notes. Burnt sugar. Almost black colour with a red shine. Very small light brown head. Roasted, peppery flavour and peppery aftertaste. Very nice.

Bottle, PRZH Winterbierfestival. Hazy orange color, short head. Aroma is spicy, some caramel malt. Bit sweet, bit spicy, some yeast, more balanced than most of the other Winter Ales at the festival.

A red beer with a slight hazy and a dense brown head. The aroma is sweet nutty but also with a slight note of phenol. The flavor is sweet nutty and fruity, but again with a slight off-note of phenol - maybe it is over the top even though it is within the best-before-date. But maybe it is just because it is a Dutch beer ;-)

Deep dark stout with no head. Hops, resinous in character in aroma, and light chocolate. The same in mouth with hoclate notes, but a bit under carbonated and too light a body. May 1,2005 at 2nd KBC Festival, Den Bosch, NL.

(bottle) Cloudy orange to amber colour with a small but stable frothy yellow head. Slightly sweet aroma with orange peels, peaches, yeasts and a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium body, moderate carbonation. Initially malty and orange fruity with upcoming alcohol, bittersweet spicy and slightly hoppy finish.

A red-brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet acidic - reminding me of a Flemmish Sour. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of prunes, over ripe fruits, and caramel, but also hints of wood, leading to a dry end.

(bottle) Murky brown body with yeast flakes and a frothy medium head, turning into a creamy tanned layer. Aroma of toasted malts with caramel and milk chocolate. Sweet and sour flavour, medium body, lively carbonation. Toast-malty and sourfruity (citrus) taste, tart and slightly bitter lasting finish, although the alcohol becomes stronger towards the finish.
