(bottle, 37.5cl, vintage 2012) Hazy, ruby amber golden colour with an unstable tanned foamy head. Yeasty spicy and dusty dark malty aroma with caramel, delicately woody and shy fruity notes. Mildly acidic and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Dark malty, slightly toasty base with present notes of caramel, spices and a touch of cellar; the fruit-character (cherries, citrus, raspberries) is initially rather restrained but gets stronger towards the moderately vinegary, woody and tart finish. 11.I.13

10/I/13 - 33cl bottle from Café Local (Anzegem, the brewers' own pub) @ home - BB: 1/X/14 (2013-10)

GUSHER alert! Despite being warned and opening very cool after the bottle had been sitting straight up in the fridge for days. Just saying.
Pretty cloudy purple brown beer, huge frothy aery beige head, unstable, little adhesive, small sediment floating around. Aroma: cough syrup, lots of red berries, maple syrup, ripe to overripe fruits, tobacco, bit earthy, black liquorish, elder berries, candy, blackberry jam. MF: way too much carbon, medium body, alcohol. Taste: blackberry and other jams, bit citric, bitter hops, juniper berries, black liquorice, hoppy, elder berries, cough syrup, pretty fruity, alcohol touch. Aftertaste: some overripe fruits, banana, caramel, pomelo (sort of grapefruit like thing), some citrus, dusty and dry ending. This is not bad, but it is not a stout...

Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, malts, apricot and bread. Rather sweet flavour, light bitter which crescendos into quite a hop bitter finish.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 18 Oct 2012) Pale golden colour with lasting white head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, citrus, honey, floral hops and hay. Malty, fruity taste with soft malt, peaches, citrus and a spicy bitterness in the finish. Light hints of soapy wheat in the background. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Highly drinkable with a refreshing hop character. Nice one.
