Bottled at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Almost clear golden, mid sized head. Distinct spicy hop aroma. Mid sweet, medium-full body. Doughy malt, spritzy carbonation. Drying out in a grainy, really bitter finish. Grassy, hoppy Belgo IPA.

Medium to good, rather stable creamy yellowish head over fully hazy russet beer. Rather perfumed nose, bit of rosewater, maybe coriander, brown candi sugar. Quite bitterish at first, earthy, leafy & undergrowth notes; bit of black chocolate, lots of melanoidins. Yeasty, and the background consists of sweetish, treacle-like malts, mounting with temperature. Rather well-bodied, with a creamy texture, but not much of an aftertaste. I don’t get the ’red fruit’ (is this supposed to contain cranberries?), nor the aniseed, Tim. It’s rather Walloon in character to me.

From bottle, courtesy of Joes. Hazy opaque red color, no head. Smell sour, some warm cherries you sometimes get with Ice cream. Taste sour, unripe fruits. Pretty decent beer, very well balanced. Way better then expected. Medium to high carbo, but not offensive.

Little cloudy red brown to rust coloured beer, creamy yellowish head, unstable, adhesive with nice lacing. Aroma: lots of star anise, bit sweet, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: star anise again, and I'm not a fan of star anise. :( A little sweet, carbon sour, some caramel, hop bitterness. Aftertaste: little sour, aniseed, orange peel, little bitter. A bit overdone on the spices, would have preferred a more balanced beer, maybe with a plunge of mocha or even a dash of sweet caramel.

bottle 33cl. Dorée/orangée, col blanc épais. Arôme malt grillé, levure, houblon faiblard pour ce que j’attendais d’une IPA. En bouche, levure, fine amertume, le tout rappelant plus une triple que IPA. Malt léger, houblon, peut-être du Goldings, fruité amer, orange et citron sur la fin. Une bière pas mauvaise en soit, mais qui point de vue style me déçoit un peu, je cherche toujours le profile IPA de cette dernière qui pour moi reste plus centré sur une bière forte d’abbaye.

Draught Small beige head over hazy foxy-amber beer. Oud bruin, at its best; extremely fruity, cherry, lactic acid, putteke, wet wood. Fresh, tart, oud bruin in wood, but less fruity in the mouth than in the nose. Only the MF leaves a bit to be desired, being a tad watery, but offering lasting lactic acid flavouring. Excellent! I want more from these guys. In the present sample, a bit more body and a bit more lagering might have elevated it even higher.

Note: the brewer calls this an experimental beer, as it is their first try for a Vlaams Oud Bruin. Possibly this beer will change in the future.

Bit cloudy copper red to brown beer, aery off-white smal head, unstable and non adhesive. Dissipates quite quickly. Aroma: fruity, sour cherries, wood, little sweet, some yoghurt (lactobacillus). Taste: sour but fruity start, lemony, raspberries, red currants. Aftertaste: lemon, raspberries, butter milk. The more you drink of it, the more complex flavours you are able to detect. This beer needs some balancing, but it's already promising. Can't wait till they make a blend with a 2 year old sour, instead of a one year old.

Hazy yellow to light orange colour. Smells slightly hoppy and fruity. Tastes more like a tripel then like an IPA. Too much co2 for my likings.
